Only Ann-Marie can sing this song so beautifully in my humble opinion. I often sat at My Da's bedside as the cancer shrunk this once big strong Kerry Man to a bag of bones. This song means so much to me. Thank you Ann-Marie. I have this special song that is just mine n Mikey-Joe Reidy's may he RIP

You have to feel the story in order to sing this song and my God Anne/Marie has the feeling of it. Absolutely the best rendition I have ever heard. You can feel yourself part of that group of boys as they grow up to fight for their country. The Boys of Barr na Straide will live for ever🙏💚

Yes! Yes! Said by an English born 'Rebel'. It's not about you Annemarie, but about the principles. IE The men who stood up, & fought. And died. I stand by those men & boys who fought for justice. Always. And I love your song too.

Powerful version. From one who lives overseas, I truly love this song, and have heard it sang many times from a very young age. For me I cannot think of a better delivery (MOM's recitation of it in 100 Great Irish Poems by 100 Great Irish Voices, I also love, and it's deep). A song I always associated with the male voice (The Bould Thady as well) I now associate differently. And it's hard to change an old man set in his ways. I know many great voices are out there, but when you associate certain songs in certain ways, it can be damn difficult to change track (pun intended). I can only recall Emmy-Lou Harris ever doing that previously. Please keep it going, Annmarie!

This song mentions thje Sheehans, Con and Da , which reminds me of 2 other Sheehan brothers, Batt and Dave, who were natives of my native townland of Garravane. Batt and Dave were active in the Tournafulla I.R.A. Company in the West Limerick Brigade, in 1919-1921. Their uncle Michael Sheehan was Sheriff of San Mateo County, Calif. at the time, and he took 2 Thompson machineguns and a quantity of ammo to the Cork City Brigade in February, 1921.
