After more than a decade my heart still aches watching these tragic scenes , all my condolences and love to Japanese people and may this never happen again , Love you all! Huge hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷
As someone who lived in Japan at this point in time, these scenes are still incredibly hard to watch. What an absolutely catastrophic event, including the aftermath it's truly one of the worst periods of my life.

I feel the exact same. I just moved to Japan shortly before this happened.
I just watched a few of these longer videos. I was in Germany back then and only saw it on the news - you’d only see the aftermath or the more ‘dramatic’ moments of the big waves crashing over the embankments. It’s crazy to see the longer videos and how slowly the water crept up. I’m glad Ishikawa did not suffer the same fate.

Ive watched alot of these videos and every time I think the Japanese people were incredibly brave. They went thru so much that day but they handled it admirably.
My heart aches coming back to this. I remember this day very vividly. The overwhelming force of nature, the devastation, the shock, the pain... It's so heartbreaking. It's inspiring how all of Japan came together, and even the world to lend aid and rebuild. 10+ years on, I'll never forget this moment.
