Any time you are given a circular constraint area and the buildings are square, a swastika is often the most efficient layout. Another example is indoor crops placed around a sun lamp in RimWorld

I realize you've done this video 6 years ago, but Anno 1404 Gold was on sale on GOG, so I bought it in November based on all of the recommendations. Having a bit of trouble getting things to work. Was glad to find your videos. One question - if you are still answering them -- I always seem to have trouble with my rope building not continuing production. Does it have to be next to the hemp plantations? Based on what you've done here -- I see that it isn't. Not sure what I'm missing. Thanks for all of the helpful advice.

The patterns I've always used have been quit similar to these. But recently I've realized, it's a lot of upkeep being spent on warehouses. The cider/hemp layout is using 3 times as many warehouses as necessary. that 20 gold you spend less. One warehouse could service up to 12 wood choppers. There is a lot you can do with taking advantage of the producing building grabbing directly from row resource building too.

Thanks so much for these tutorials. Trying to play 1404 for the first time (in anticipation of 1800), and it is very confusing. I've bombed out several times because I didn't build something that was needed, or didn't know what to do at some point. This helps a LOT!

​​​@@y33t23Alright idk how relevant this still is after a year, but those shifts in income are usually due to shifts in the happiness level of your population. Check the fulfillment of needs for every tier of population on every island if that happens.

Still fantastic. I don't imagine I'll be saying much else for these videos. On the other hand, a double clicking mouse is a sign of a failing mouse. If I were you I would consider buying a backup for the near future as your mouse is likely to start experiencing total failure at some point soon.

Ich bevorzuge für Hanf die selbe Bauweise wie für die Mosthöfe. Ist einfach einheitlicher und platzsparender als die Webereien zu integrieren. Die Produktionskette Werkzeug kommt bei mir tatsächlich direkt in die Nähe der Mine, da ich dann weiß: Aha hier hast du alles ausgenutzt. Die Köhlerhütte lässt sich später durch eine Mine ersetzen.

I went bankrupt trying to set up the citizens. I recommend upping peasant taxes to happy or calm, but not euphoric so they don't become citizens. Once you are comfortable with citizens needs then lower taxes.

Or, you just deny them ascension rights

After certain amount of inhabitants class, the tax goes down so much they're paying less than the previous class if their new needs aren't met

whats the best attainment path upgrades to get and what to skip ? for not fighting maps like elector any advise on how they work and which to buy thats the best choices to pick from for rank tiers ? seems like im wasting points not sure what to pick early on ?

The whole tool aspect of this game is incredibly frustrating to me. You have to constantly buy them until you can get your tool production up which has several parts to its build tree. Seem quite ridiculous for something so essential.
