I love this album. Insomnium never dropped a record I don't at least like, but this is probably their best since...maybe Above the Weeping World. Which is, like, top 10 melodeath album for me. So nice to see Insomnium still dropping quality music

Insomnium is one of my all time favorite melodic death metal bands and this new album is an absolute masterpiece. I highly suggest you check out Since the Day It All Came Down and Above the Weeping World if you want some of their best works.

Really happy you gave this band attention cause they’ve always been a solid reliable band and they have some absolutely fantastic tracks in their catalog. Lyrically they’ve always been top notch. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m assuming Enslaved is coming next

Hello! I'm long time fan this band. This album i got White vinyl. And the rest catalog..all their albums on vinyl. Even Argent Moon (blue vinyl still plastic crap) Black vinyl that album is opened. Album is so great. Godforsaken is my favorite track too. A top 3 Insomnium song. You absolutely need to check out their pre-Shadows albums though. Some of their best work is in there. Go check out the song ‘Down With the Sun’ right this instance!

The guitar solo on Starless Paths is epic. Although this album was a bit of a shift for me because I had been listening to the Hellripper album repeatedly

One For Sorrow would be my personal favorite and recommendation, the clean vocals are admittedly not as strong as on their later works, but they’re also far from bad and the atmosphere, outstanding Melodies and perfect songs just make it into my favorite Melodic Death Metal album

Insomnium are one of my favorites in Melodeath. Even their “Weakest” albums I still say are decent and worth checking out still. Winters Gate, Above the Weeping World are my personal favorites. Most of these tracks are pretty great and what I want from Insomnium. A few filler tracks that do nothing for me here and there. But still a huge majority of this album is great so yeah 4/5

It's a solid album IMO, but nothing that new or special for them for the most part. I also HATE the spoken word sections, I find that they're so cringy and pretentious. Glad you enjoyed it more than I did though :) Maybe I'll listen to it more and it'll grow on me, who knows

Definitely give it another shot, lots of stuff here to dissect and think about. But no harm done if it just legit doesn't do it for ya, to each their own.
