Anno 2205 is hated by most Anno-fans. While it is a bad Anno, it is a great city builder and has the best game flow in the entire franchise!

I started Anno 1405 HE after playing 2205 and by god is 1405 stressfull compaired to 2205 i really like the more relaxed gameplay 2205 is offering.

Just turned off my 2205 gameplay.....was finding it hard to continue. It gets so....old breaking your economy and spending so much time to balance it out just to break it again. Thanks for the excellent timing on starting a new playthrough. Instant subscribe. Quick question....is it better to produce all your temperate needs in the same sector or buy another sector specifically in making all the products your main temperate zone needs? I went with the latter and while my first is making a ton of money, the second "industrial" temperate zone is -38k. I keep having the gut feeling that I did this wrong.

Hey, I don't know if you care about my 2 cents but here you go: (Tl;Dr: space for operator production chain is a bitch so the "choice" is just a matter of time) the limited space for vitamin drinks & desalination plants (rice fields & rejuvenators later on) presents you with the exact choice you faced: either scale down population to a minimum to conserve on production space OR buy a second area mainly intended for production. In truth, the latter option is the intended game path but it's your choice if you decide to rush investors before settling a new temperate region, which feeds into a different, later game play loop: maxing workforce to gain promotion rights. It'll become apparent once you can supply all exec. needs how profitable scaling up population and production to it's requirements ends up being. Cheap workforce in your main region means loads of finance Calc. Modules for cost and heat sinks for energy consumption. the space intensive ones get "outsourced" and run 4 drone rack modules each so your workforce there is as minimal as possible. I know -38k is crazy but maybe you need ratios for comparison: if your main region earns 60k but the production is losing 40k it's time to make things more efficient, like right now. You should aim at spending 35-50% of your main's profit on the production region, 15-25% on the arctic and the moon needs finance calculators EVERYWHERE... Everywhere? YES EVERYWHERE!! (ya know, like in Leon the Pro) have fun playing m8

I personally think it's best to specialize sectors and use their advantages. Setting up all of your farms in a temperate zone that has this +x% farm productivity bonus is pretty huge in the late game. And the sector bonuses can also be changed via "terraforming" or how the mechanic in the bottom right corner is called.

2205 is the best Anno, I prefer that futuristic sense to the steampunk sense, Sci-fi is the best.

I enjoyed 2205, even though I still consider it the worst in the entire series. It was waaay to basic and oversimplified, especially after the complex 2070. But it wasn't that bad and it managed to keep me hooked for long hours. But I'm curious what do you mean by "game flow" as its major advantage? As I understand that term all games in the franchise do that really well, one might even call it a feature of Anno in general. But I wish you could elaborate on that topic.

All Anno games have a great design and are great in getting you into the Flow-state. I differentiate here between Flow (basically being sucked up into the game, suspension of disbelief) and Game Flow (fluent gameplay without interruptions). In regards of Game Flow 2205 is leading, since it is fast and there is always something to do, while in 1800 I often have to wait for building materials or for ships to get from A to B (sometimes 10-15 minutes) while in 2205 I can just do a quick combat mission to pass time. Production times are faster, I receive immediate feedback for changes in economy and infrastructure.

@@LeagueofUngentlemanlyWarfare I understand what you mean. I agree about the waiting for building materials, it can be somewhat bothersome, but only in the early stages. Later there's always something to do and fortunately none of it is a combat mission. That's the part of 2205 that I genuinely despise, in my opinion it was the absolute worst idea in the entire series. I played the combat missions only when it was required by the campaign or I needed the non-produceable resources. Having said that, I spend few hundred hours playing 2205, so I don't consider the money wasted by any means. But while I might at some point in the future return to 1404 or 2070, I doubt that I'll ever again try 2205. Now I return to the best installment in the series - 1800. :-) Have fun!
