@Jimbo80125 жыл бұрын
+ Vulture Vic - On balance, I prefer the Hulu documentary tbh Vulture. They're both sufficiently different so it won't feel like you're watching the same thing. I liked the Netflix documentary but it's slightly tainted by the fact it was made by Fuck Jerry. The Netflix documentary was very effective about what happened on the ground and why the festival was a disaster but the Hulu documentary was much more successful in showing why people fell for it and uncovering how much of a scam artist Billy McFarland truly was and what his motivations were. The Hulu documentary also showed that McFarland was a scammer from an extremely early age and that his other company, Magnises was a steaming pile of turd based on lies. The interview with McFarland also showed him to be a compulsive liar and someone who has never been held responsible for his fuck ups until now. This is why the Hulu doc is better.

Organizing something like a "Fyre" festival is a major, major organizational effort. There are multiple layers to this: transportation, food, lodging, medical, security, etc etc. You would need a program manager for each one of those, and then under each program manager they would have their own budget, personnel, and task management activity priorities. Then you would need a master scheduler overseeing all of these activities. If you wanted to do a Fyre festival right, you'd have to set your scope and expectations first. Then bring in a team who has managed these logistical challenges. What comes to mind are Olympics or Superbowl organizers. Its just insane that Billy McFarland thought he could just wing this.

It will, to archive video takes quite a bit of infrastructure, not to mention the comments and metadata. Unless an archive forms up a fond about the event, I doubt it will stay. Makes you wonder what kind of shitshow it would have turned into if they were able to keep it on the smaller island, because the Netflix doc brings up that there was no way to fit that many people on the small island. On balance, I prefer the Hulu documentary tbh Roach. I liked the Netflix documentary but it's slightly tainted by the fact it was made by Fuck Jerry. The Netflix documentary was very effective about what happened on the ground and why the festival was a disaster but the Hulu documentary was much more successful in showing why people fell for it and uncovering how much of a scam artist Billy McFarland truly was and what his motivations were. .
