I hate when people say they hate Jenny, its quite obvious she dearly loved Forest but she knew herself she would only drag him down, also even with all the times Forest showed his love for her, she always backed down because its actually shown that people that had difficult childhoods (like Jenny), of being SA’d and abused have a hard time with self worthiness, and thats not all, you can see all the problems she had to fight even when she was out of her home, like being in abusive relationships, almost ending her own life, having to find go couch to couch, and much more. So unless you know what its like the actually be her than you cant have any say in this conversation.

Just because someone has trauma or history of abuse doesn't absolve them from getting shit talked. We learn from and grow attached to Forest throughout the film, plus she's the girl he has feelings for so it makes sense that people would want them to date. But it seemed like he always liked her while she saw him as a friend or little brother. So when she drops the disease and baby thing on him when all sye did was run from her issues and fuck guys, it can come off as trashy. Not condoning it, just explaining why people are commenting stuff. Its not about her trauma, it's about her CHARACTER. Jenny just never seemed to beat her demons.
