This channel is the most helpful source of information that I have ever found on the Army National Guard.

You've been MIA for a while now. Anyways I had a question. Are NG soldiers allowed to wear the ocp uniform now? I have the acu ucp now for drills before I ship to bct. Will I get the ocp at bct if not can I purchase it else where and wear it for my drills? Thanks.

I can tell you right now what the problem is, too many layers of bureaucracy. Why is the NGB involved in unit training plans? The answer is money. The problem, of course, is that each unit has different needs, those needs change with new personnel or new equipment issue. Planning that was done two years (or even one year) ago can not meet current needs. Worse, tremendous amounts of money is spent on training that units do not need at all. Still worse, greatly needed training that could be done on the cheap does not take place at all because it is not on the "training plan." If you want to be helpful Top, then tell the NCOs how to correct a training plan and get the troops the training they need.

Robert Donnell yes and no. My opinion since I’m at the company level: NGB is focused on major muscle movements and not the individual unit. Items that require federal resources and dollars. All they’re looking to do is deconflict and align. But once again, I can’t tell you that for sure. It’s a safe bet to say that they’re not looking down at the BN/Unit level unless that BN is lined up for a MOB or multi national exercise or rotation on federal training sites such as NTC. For your last sentence... sounds like you’re recommending a video idea. I like it and will run with it since I’m intimately familiar with that process. Thank you!
