I'd love to hear this with a real drumkit. Personally, the digital / organic contrast here has crossed the threshold of being jarring to my ear. It would need to be the perfect setup though to make sense. Stacked cymbals on the hat, pillows in the kick, two wallets on the snare, duct tape on the toms, mardi gras beads on the ride - the whole nine yards to get the right sound... IYKYK ✌

Its really good but i dont get much of a feel for groove from the orchestra. the bassist has great grove but the rest of the band just lacks. for example thats the reason that when they played the lick and went "wooo" it felt awkward. nevertheless great work. now we also have the anomalie big band and they are a great example for groove

I find it has two flaws: first it lacks funkyness, it's too on time (yeah you can't recreate a pitch wheel with a bunch of string and air instruments without a LOT of work but...); also the artificial touch of the digital drumset makes it even more cold. Also it appears slower (even though the BPM are exact) because the analog instruments require more time to finish given the melodic take on this remix. That adds to the feel that something's off.

@@sdesantino you propably don't know how HARD it is to manage a classical arrangement and add groove to it. Groove is out of state when it comes to classical formations. The problem in this is only a mixing problem. The play is great, the sound takes to, it's just the mix which sounds too rough, I agree with that.
