Smokes do not just magically spread to fill the area they're in and will not fully smoke whichever gap you throw them in to. The reason you only need 1 smoke in CT is because they just tend to spread a little wider now when in open area's. The bigger spread is just smokes going higher up when in tight area's or spreiding around the terrain
