Hi I’ve used Alaskan cod, Halibut, white Pomphret, Trout,Malhi Malhi and even tilapia fish steaks in Newyork and now in California , all these can be bought in Costco , when my Amma was with me she made fish the same way for my children mostly with cod ,halibut and kingfish comes out 👍 Thanks Anoma , you are the best!!!

Would it lessen the flavour if one were to first cook the kiri hodi and add the fish later? Would that make the curry less tasty? Here in the US it is impossible to find rampe leaves. Sera is available in the Thai groceries but I don't know if it would be a suitable substitute for kiri hodi I love your tutorials, and the patience and affection with which you present them. Your family is very lucky to have you.

theinkbrain You must add the fish FIRST to the kiri hodi. Other wise you won’t get the real flavor of fish kiri hodi in the curry. Sera won’t be a good substitute for Rampe. Better to make kiri hodi without Rampe than adding the sera.
