They express a desire to let go and be swept away by the river, as a release from their current situation. They also mention the need to "see the world" and move on from their sorrow. The song expresses a desire to escape and discover something new, to the unknown, the speaker want to be taken by the river to unknown places. The speaker is asking for help, they want someone or something to guide them and show them what they have done wrong. The reference to "flaming arrows" suggests a sense of danger or conflict. That reflect directly to what Thorfinn is going through. The chain at first, representing him as a slave - feeling lost to its painful past - that finds just as much strenght as he need to fight his past. He's then inside his mind with his memories, all the innocent kids, women, men that he killed. He's blindfolded, as he is haunted by nightmares and guilt. That's what Vinland saga S2 will be about.

Season 2 is an absolutely beautiful audio and video experience. In my opinion it blows away the first season but I always get sad when an episode ends because I can't wait for more. What a great show!
