There is a chance that Chamaleon was hiding in plain sight during the story. I have a theory that he was the disguised contruction worker who knocked down Miles during the story. Miles even says later on "who was that guy that kidnapped me?" and we never get that answer. Later on Chamaleon hideout, we can see among his disguises a contruction worker helmet so.... I'm guessing it was him indeed.

You actually visit it in the game during a side quest, and it is in total ruin, everything is abandoned, walls and ceilings are collapsed, etc And the game doesn’t make any reference about the X men at all, I actually found out afterwards that it was the X mansion, I did not notice during my playthrough

I think it was Stan Lee who explained how to properly write Spider-Man “when Spider-Man wins, Peter loses” writers these days just bully the man for no reason but like this game showed, whenever Spider-Man does something for the city Peters life gets slightly more miserable. It’s also why The Black Suit arc is so iconic for him because it shows us what would happen if Peter wasn’t so kind and patient. Most people would get angry and upset if they had to put up with what Pete does, but because Peter is such a nice and patient man he puts up with it. The Black Suit let’s every ounce of that anger out

The one thing I find kind of odd is that the game almost feels like it's the slow down of supers. All these characters are shown to be doing well in the first one but now it feels almost as if they're disappearing. Like the abandoned (potentially) X-mansion and Daredevil losing his company. Plus (Spoiler alert) - - - - - - - - - - - Peter retiring.
