Just out of curiosity, it's possible that some of these walkmans had non-leaking capacitors? I bought one for parts and it sound good, and before I open and check, I wonder if at least some of them don't leak?

By this time if capacitors were not changed earlier - its not possible that they are survived by this time. Its my opinion after fixing lots of them. If you open device and there is smell of something like fish (sometimes different smell, but you maybe notice it) then 100% some of them or all of them spilled their electrolyte... Cheers!
