I had the same problem with the cups spinning so I used a plastic bonding product by J.B. Weld. I mixed it and made sure it was only on the threads closest to the cup so it wouldn't seal up the inlet. Then I did some on the outside where the thread enter the pipe after a 2 hour set time I didn't have any movement or leaks. It worked perfectly, I hope that helps.
