Properly fitting shoes is the most important thing you can do for yourself! It's not worth it in the long run, there's a risk of hammer toes, bunions etc. Super pointy toed shoes like that are not the greatest in general because they squish your toes into an unnaturally small shape, but if you must wear them it's key to at least go up half a size to a full size to accommodate for the narrow toe box. I say return them for a 39.5 or even a 40! Also, patent leather is leather that is coated in plastic and will never stretch so it's very important that any footwear in patent fits well from the getgo.

Did you forget that Canada is still under Britain’s empire, meaning that they could not charge you duties tax as it is considered part of GB it’s like ordering from Manchester or anywhere in England. Just a heads up :)

I absolutely love them and want to fight everyone in the comment section who said they didn't like them. I adore ssence sooooo much and they have the best return policy/customer service etc so because like you said they're patent and probably won't stretch plus you want to wear a thicker sock in winter, I'd return and re purchase in a larger size ❤️

One pet peeve of mine is when luxury labels use plastic zippers. Chanel does that as well in handbags that cost BIG MONEY, and it makes no sense at all. Hopefully you'll never have a zipper issue, but that really cheapens the product.

Patent leather black boots are the best. It’s stable in my wardrobe...I wear them in rainy weather and cold weather , so far they didn’t get any damage ... I like to wear and use my stuff lol .... and there something about those boots, they make my posture better and make me feel more fierce lol ready to take on the world

You can wear them with tights. Go to a shoe repair shop to see if you can get them stretched.

Unlike leather or fabric, patent doesn't give much when worn. Perhaps a shoe repair shop could stretch the toes a bit.

Patent leather was one of the things which my Mother (she knew a lot about such things) railed against! Because it doesn't let the feet breathe, apparently. I have never owned patent leather shoes, because I find myself agreeing with her. Having said that, they are your shoes and your feet! And maybe a really good shoe fixer could stretch them just a tiny bit with no ill effect? It would be worth looking into, if you like them! Have a lovely week and I hope you are not too hot!
