A few weeks ago, Malin had her cancer scans and checkups and was told that everything looked clear. Now that might not be the case...
Malin was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer around 18 months ago and has since gone through cancer treatment, and is now on the other side and recovering well. But nothing simple! She's dealt with many BIG hospital mistakes and this is another to add to the list. Mistakes like this make it hard to trust the healthcare system.

Dear Malin, you are one who rarely fusses or seems negative. This situation with the missing scans gives you the right to complain but still you move ahead and find many reasons to smile. I love the way that you praise and encourage your children, you are such fantastic parents. So so sorry about your missed scans. I feel compelled to say to everyone you must be your own doctor, I haven’t the space here to explain but unfortunately many errors are made from prescribing wrong drugs that are dangerous with others you’re taking, checking appointments, that the correct tests are being done that results aren’t lost. I’m in the UK I support our NHS but they are struggling. If you have an elderly relative or friend who aren’t online or don’t understand their medical condition please check that they are ok. Also, if you’re going for an operation double check what medication you need to stop before the day, so many people are being sent home because of this.

Malin, unfortunately the healthcare system really stinks, I am a retired oncology nurse and I am so happy that I left nursing. I had breast cancer surgery for a small tumor only to have my surgeon tell me that she did not get clear margins. Her attitude was so cavalier and she said she could do more surgery, but I basically told her good riddance and that I would never let her touch me again. Thank goodness my mammograms have been clear.🙏🙏 I continue to pray for you and your beautiful family 🙏🙏🕊🕊🥰

Goodness Malin such incompetence on behalf of the surgical team and now you’re left in limbo once again. I’m glad you’re looking at enjoying the weather and not focussing too much on the scan but I’m keeping you in my thoughts that everything will be okay sweetie. Malin, my surgery for Level 1 cancer in December was supposed to be followed up with radiation treatments but when I hadn't heard for about five weeks, I phoned and asked and that was when they finally got the radiation treatments set up. I completely agree with you that you should not have to wonder about hiccups like a missed scan and I hope you will get to talk with your nurse when she returns from holidays to see if you can understand the whole background. I keep your health in my prayers and think we live in a world where people don't always do all that they should or could and so sometimes we have to do something a bit extra. Loved that Bella swimming! Look after yourself, Malin, keep enjoying your lovely family in the summer sun. See you next week.

WOW, it’s very disheartening when you put your trust in the healthcare system with your life and they made this kind of mistake, very disappointing! You’re right, it’s hard to trust them once something like this happens. Make sure u mention it to your doctors as well.

I was told a biopsy was negative when in fact it was never performed. When I got access to my online chart the wording was weird. It took me months to get the doctor to admit the testing was never done. Then she brushed it off. As a result, the additional testing I needed was delayed since I thought I was in the clear. Always get online access and use it. Doctors are too rushed.

I am so sorry, Malin. How utterly disappointing that they can't do this properly, good thing you are onto them and trying to get to the bottom with what happened. Looks like you've managed to have a couple of wonderful days with your little ones at least. Glad Midsommar! :)

Hi Tom and Malin Lovely sunshine in Sweden and the children are having fun by the pool. The children play well together and most children argue , quarrel or fight. It’s best to get this scan done as if things are missed as it’s important for your care. Think positive as maybe they did cut corners instead of doing the full scan. You have gone this far now and I know it’s a pain in the butt. I had an mri about a year ago and still have not had the results as yet sotheyare pretty quick over there. Until you know anything further just enjoy the break with Tom and the kids. It’s sunshine weatger at last. Take care Malin. I literally had to 'pause' your video and salivated looking at the yummy Swedish Midsummer Feast! 😋"Sill and new potatoes with sour cream and chives.. Ice cold Akvavit and singing "helan gar" is always a must for sure! The Swedish Strawberries looks fantastic too..🍓 Good job Bella swimming with your mom! The flowers wreaths in your hair and dancing around the midsummer pole etc..Beautiful summer traditions that i remember fondly...🌼 Awww.. i'm so sorry that the hospital has made such a horrible mistake with your scans! Aw Malin, so sorry they missed a scan. Unacceptable. Hopefully real soon you get more good news and the all clear once more. Honestly it seems these mistakes are often made with the Canadian system as well. 😢 But you are looking so vibrant and healthy - all that lovely sunshine is pouring out the vitamin D and is so good for the whole family, as is the fresh air. The kids look so happy - you two are wonderful parents. What a lovely spot to float in the water and play with the salamanders! (Do wash hands well afterwards, as they can carry salmonella.) I was a court reporter doing pretrial depositions and specialized in med mal cases for over 20 years. I will never go to an allopathic dr again ever! Moved TX to Kauai, learned Hawaiian and eastern med - naturopath. No allopaths/testing in over 10 years - Not one headache or illness in over 10 years (mid 60's) Best Life Ever!

You’re right. SO many questions that need answering. You have EVERY right to be angry frustrated and disappointed. You’ve been let down by the system which should be supporting you. Make yourself heard when you can to understand this “ negligence “ and how it happened. You trusted them…..

I know the stress you’re going through. 2 years ago today I got my bowel cancer diagnosis. You try to look clam whilst inside you’re spiralling thinking of all the what ifs that could be found. And then peace until the next time, and you need that peace of not worrying! May you get it soon. My stoma is called Ducky.. I need one of those massive ducks!

The ostomy bag adhesive is meant to stay secure in water. I have one and I can soak in a hot tub without any issues. :)

Advocate for yourself and ask as many questions as you need. Also I wonder about your stomach situation and having to live with pain. That seems so ridiculous that a physician should just say you need to live with pain instead of investigations options to ensure you have the best quality of life for you.

There are my favorite young ones. You two are amazing parents. Cherish this time with them as it won’t be long til Charlie starts school. Malin, oh my heart sweetie, I cannot believe they missed very important parts of your scans. It’s crazy. I have been in a tizzy about how horrible the health care has become. I don’t have Cancer, but I went thru a very traumatic experience a couple wks ago in my 2nd attempt for EGD and colonoscopy. The nurse were so incompetent. It was a nightmare. And I tried being nice, and I try not to tell them Iam a retired nurse, needless to say, the scopes were not done as even the Nurse Anesthetist was unable to start an IV. Come on, who attempts to start an IV on one’s ankle bone. I was done. Anyhoo, try to enjoy your time in the great weather and try not to worry ok? You’re in my prayers and I have faith that your scans will all be negative for any Ca. I’m with you on how on earth did they not realize that important parts of the scans were missing, yet told you that all was clear? Bless your hearts. Monday is going to be ok. I know it’s easy for me to say that, but thank goodness they didn’t call to tell you they seen something they missed. I’m so glad that you’re going to ask questions and get to the bottom of this. It’s crazy. Please post a little something to let us know how your scans went and what explanation your Nurse gives you. Much love and prayers. I haven’t seen a mud Puppy in yrs. Love ya all.
