Oh... so sorry about your furnace. Better now than in the depths of winter. Glad you got it resolved and will have warmth in the cold season. Awesome he gave you a bathroom repair referral. Everything came together really well. I have a backlog of paperwork to get done today and, like you said, can't just sit on the couch expecting miracles to happen, so I will be forging thru that task today. 😏 I don't see any dust particles except for mine.😂 I think your dogs nap more than my cats. Chloe with her face in the blankie....too cute! I think I would have to move the lamp/table and put the Christmas tree in that window spot (but that's me being me 😊🎄). I hope your week ahead is with out any more unwelcome issues. You have had your fair share of mishaps for 2024. 🍁

So sorry to hear about the furnace Ellen!!! I replaced mine a few years ago along with my air conditioner and it was about an $8500 investment BUT I was still working. I did do a same as cash offer they had and paid it in full in 6 months. My furnace was very old and so was my a/c . It was the original and my house was built in 1957 ! Before I retired I did open an equity line though and I will keep that for as long as I can and will only use for any bigger project like my kitchen remodel which should be paid off next year. Rainy day here today. Church, finished my hutch project, and cleaned my AirBnb Cabin for the next guest. Other than that, lazy day. So sorry about the furnace. Our central air broke a few years ago and when we replaced it we replaced the furnace at the same time because of the same situation, our furnace was 25 years old. Our local furnace man put in our furnace and air conditioner and it was about 8000.00. The air was the most expensive. Not so much problems for me lately, but my grandson who lives with me...His used car blew up. Got another used car and the ball joint broke and the wheel fell off, luckily it was just down our road. My poor son has had to be a mechanic a lot more than he wants, but it still cost him quite a bit of money for parts. Many prayers.

The upstairs furnace and central AC unit, original to the house (built in 2010), are both still working fine. Thank goodness. The closing of my house is Thursday the 14th, with the walk-thru on Wednesday the 13th. I pray all goes well. I will be relieved when this is over, as it has been a long, hard journey. Sounds like the fan motor didn't get it's yearly oiling . If you don't want to take the motor apart, you can drill a tiny hole in the back bearing cover and oil it through the hole . If it's just humming, it's not turning, which will overheat the temp limit sensor which shuts off the burner . I like my simple wood 🪵 stove, as long as I have wood, it works. I can buy some wood a lot cheaper than a furnace overhaul. I could fix it if I had to though. Just happen to have a new furnace blower motor. It's on a little air compressor though.

Doesn't sound like much of a repair man if he didn't oil the fan motor up. Since he already knows it needs bearings . Just a fan blower motor shouldn't cost that much. As long as everything else is good, no reason you couldn't fix it cheaper. That's what I would do. Look on the new motor if you get one, it'll say oil yearly or something probably. At my old house I turned the heat part off, and just used the fan. I had a wood stove and using it and the central air conditioner unit's fan was a lot cheaper.

@EllensAbundantLifeonLess I made a trip to the DG store North of here yesterday for a pair of sweatpants, and I see there's a dead elm tree in the road ditch a few miles away. It's a nice day, I may go cut some wood 🪵🪓 off of it. Free heat...I shelled the pecans and got two pounds of goodies from the ones I picked up. It had rained three days and very little ☀️ Sun, so my batteries were down to 24.6 volts the day before yesterday. But they're getting full today. They would have been full yesterday, but clouds after noon just got thicker, and it was dark at 5: 30 p. m. So I made a strawberry 🍓 cake 🎂 this morning. I burned a couple of pieces of 2X4 last night, it's 73 degrees inside now. My solar panels are making 740.5 watts. The output is slowly dropping, it was around 835 last week. In December is when it really drops off. I kind of lucked out on my tomatoes. I found three green ones about tennis ball sized, and it rained so they'll probably get a little bigger. And the sweet potatoes are still making I guess, the vines look okay . There is some colder air supposed to come through in a couple weeks so they'll probably be about done after that. I'll try to transplant a piece or two of the vines into the greenhouse if I can get the old chicken house taken down. I have to build a shelf for the microwave first. I've noticed that coffee ☕ is going up in price, I bought four more "two pound cans" actually 30.5 ounces each, for $32.60 at the local bargain store. It's Brookshire's Classic Roast. I couldn't believe the prices at the Dollar general store, so I didn't buy anything but sweats and some mouse traps. I finished filling another 20 gallon barrel with dry goods. I may get another one about Friday. I expect the prices on everything to go up because of the coming tariffs on Chinese goods, so I am going to get another pair of solar panels before they get too expensive. The last ones I got were two 100 watts panels for $147. That will put me at 1800 watts of them ... I don't know exactly when the price would go up, but no use paying more for the same thing. If you're going to buy any, I would do it soon. They may double in price, and people will be panic buying, so the cheaper ones will disappear fast. 🤔😎 I am almost scared to check the price, but I will let you know how much they are.
@EllensAbundantLifeonLessКүн бұрын
@@DavidPotter-k1d I'm going to hold off on the solar panels for awhile since I'm not living off grid. My extra cash will be going into the new furnace. At least I managed to get my generators which have been on my list for a long time. 👍
