That's very typical of the ethnic people of Meghalaya. They are in general very particular about cleaniness. Be it the house, clothes or the vehicles. Every small town or village you cross, the people would we washing either their clothes or their vehicles. All cars would always be shining like mirror. They always take care of their looks as well. Very well dress all the time. I had a school classmate, a jaintia fella, he would always had the whitest shirt in school and well pressed. Dare someone try touching his shirt. LOL!

You are right, you'll that Momos in NE are near authentic to the Tibetan ones, unlike the blasphemy they have done with momos in most of the country Delhi specially. Now the same trend of odd north indian style filling has started influcing in Guwahati as well. Basic steamed, fried or pan fried (like guojons) are the best, no doubt the ones in soup are also great.

Haha if you want to see the real blasphemy with momo, go to my state Gujarat 😀 Momos in NE are quite respectable, Tibetans are the best though

The first time when I had food at a local’s home in Modera near Mehsana, it was cultural shock for me ‘besan ka barfi’ with rice and kadi. I was like WTF. Then, came the dal sweetened with a little guud. One can never forget that day. Eventually, learned that nearly everything of sweetened. The best part is, even dhabas in the bordering places in Rajasthan like Tharad etc also serves you sweetened dal with roti. 😜
