I have always used a air chisel with a wedge bit . Works like a charm. But I could see where this would be helpful in a tight space.

If anything it makes for a clean job. Usually chisel, air hammer, or screw drivers leaves big gashes or marks. Makes it look more professional for sure 👍 gonna have to get me one

I had to read dozens of comments,just to find out what it was. At 1st I thought he would attach it so than he could have this part be used as a ledge to hammer away, but than I noticed he hammered on the other side. Again, I highly doubt this comes in handy. Chisel point between the slot and 2 or 3 bangs gets its done.

I just took a 6mm Allen key and filed it down on the short side to a 6mmx4mm oval shape, slot in hole, turn 90 degrees and jobs a fish. Love my Jetta

A cheap chisel ground to a sharp angle. You just need a wedge to spread the flanges.

I had a spare allen/hex key 14mm that i just ground down to an oblong shape. Chap it in the gap turn it with a spanner and boom

My man! I'd you're replacing that cv axle because of the dried out, cracked and seeing boot...just pop the lower ball joint, pull the knuckle out as you get the axle free from the hub. J/K...I have no idea what repair you're making😂
