When I first made it to flotsam I didn’t know where to go so I decided to cheese my way up to the boss arena not knowing there was a boss up there. I fought the boss for literal hours and could not do it until I finally beat it, only to realize that I got no where from it; and now I’m finding out that it was optional 😭

I was able to get there without the Mantis Punch, iirc I did some janky platforming to get to the top of the tire and managed to get up there from that point. Turns out I accidentally did a sequence-break. Not sure if you can do it on the latest patch, but the patch before that you absolutely can.

I was able to jump on walls and entrer where the shortcut behind the boss was, do it's nice to see how we're supposed to encounter the boss.

Prior to the most recent patch (and maybe still) it wasn't required. There was a way to get there from the top of the tire archway iirc. So I actually beat The Consortium before Grovekeeper Topoda, have the video recordings and achievement dates to back it up. I'm not a speed runner BTW, my stubborn ass found a way up there earlier than intended. That might explain why the fight was one-shot city as I was probably a lower level than intended, but not by that much. I haven't tried it since the most recent patch (whatever the latest patch as of 6/14/2024 is), so I can't confirm if they patched my completely accidental sequence-break.
