I love when you detailing everything on antm photoshoot and to be honest you kinda read my mind every same point like Literally!!!. I recommend you react Asia's next top model cuz I feel that the theme that they use for photoshoot is more understandable than ANTM (like bireacial ss13). My most favorite is first cycle so classy and most elegant out of 6 cycle. This cycle has some interesting shoot the underwater, the French Riviera, the little India, (this prove tyra that you doesn't need a paint skin dark to fit in the culture) and the most fairness theme that I saw from top model format is every girls wore the same dress for photoshoot and let the girls abilities show.

Didn’t Caridee or Nigel mention in a recent interview that both of them thought the joke was hilarious/not malicious? Wouldn’t be the first time ANTM made a mountain out of a molehill. Obviously no one is going to joke around like that with a photographer they just met. They’d been seeing Nigel for weeks at this point and had a rapport with him (and he deserved some of the smoke; he knew it too, LOL). It’s that dumb royalty/peasant hierarchy dynamic that they kept pushing.

CariDee and Eugena recently confirmed that this photoshoot was very edited. They barely had contact with the bull and the scenes when he was "mad" were not at the same time they were in the arena. They confirmed they were never in danger.

I've lived in Spain for a large portion of my life and bull fighting is extremely dangerous. The week we moved there, a bull fighter died in the town I lived in at that time, during a bullfight. That is not super common, but even trained professionals can be harmed or killed. Additionally, it is extremely cruel to the animals. The bull isn't just forced to fight a torero, there are picadores who weaken the bull with lances and goad it to make it frightened and defensive. There is even more I could say on it, but I'll leave it at this; there are a lot reasons why several provences have outlawed it. This was so irresponsible, disrespectful to the animal, and dangerous. The poor bull was probably scared out of its mind and a terrified animal which can easily kill you if it feels threatened should not be a prop for a photo.

They did another one with tarantulas. Considering they don’t know if the girls are comfortable with that they could have easily injured one if they got scared. Tarantulas are super fragile and falling from a high drop could kill them if someone shook it off. Idk why they choose to exploit animals for shoots. It’s unnecessary.

You should react to the circus photoshoot from cycle 7 episode 4 (The Girl Who Joined the Circus), the crime scene photoshoot from cycle 8 episode 4 (The Girl Who Changes Her Attitude), and the water photoshoot from cycle 10 episode 7 (If You Can’t Make it Here, You Can’t Make it Anywhere) which are some of the best photoshoots in ANTM history. All three of these photoshoots were shot by the amazing Mike Rosenthal (who I love). Another interesting photoshoot is the stilts shoot from cycle 17 (Allstars) episode 3 (Kristen Cavallari) shoot by Sarah Silver.

Nigel recently did an interview with Oliver Twixt and said he didn't even care, he thought it was funny, but the producers and Jay made a big deal about it. He also said he was actually hit and thrown by the bull when photographing it for the background in the photos. So apparently the show even endangered the photographers, not just the contestants.

I have been in places with bulls and they're actually pretty docile. The models weren't bullfighting. There are certain things that toreadores do on purpose to make the poor animal angry.

Even if a bull just devends itself that can be incredibly dangerous for a human. But in reality I don't think that the girls were in any danger, most of that was editing. It's just that there was no need to bring that poor bull for photoshooting reasons in at all.

As someone who grew up in cattle territory, I can tell you, most bulls are not docile. Bullfighting does not always kill the bull, sometimes they do "exhibition" rounds where the bull doesn't get harmed.

In recent interviews it was mentioned that the girls weren't in any actual danger. It was all editing and cut together to look more dangerous than it was. Also they definitely blew the Caridee comment way out of proportion. Nigel thought it was a funny joke, and he's the only one according to her that's kept in touch with her and actually hired her after the show.

Scary fun fact: bulls are colorblind. It’s not the color red that makes them charge- it’s movement of the fabric. These girls are modeling. There is an entire crew of ANTM behind the scenes. I can not imagine trying to keep everyone still enough that the bull isn’t agitated. It’s a unpredictable stressed out animal in a enclosed space.

I’m portuguese and in here we still have a big culture of bull fights (Touradas) and it’s so disgusting to make animals go through that amount of suffering for entertainment purposes! I’m in shook watching this. It’s ridiculous to see them glamorizing this topic in a show that had such a broad audience! Even more ridiculous to see they put these bulls in a stressful situation for a stupid dangerous photoshoot! This show was INSANE. INSANE. Btw, bullfights are REALLY dangerous! In Portugal ppl are not allowed to kill the bulls at the end anymore but in some parts of Spain I think that still happens! The girls and Jay are dressed like matadores or toureiros, those exist in the fights to “play with” the bull, they have the capes that ppl normally associate with bulls and they almost dance around the bull and with it! At that point tho the bull is normally bleeding (at least here in Pt) because he was already hurt by the cavaleiros (they pretty much stick a thing called bandarilhas into the back of the bull, it’s horrible). Matadores also cut the bulls’ tail and ears and kill him (in some places!). So yeah, it’s pretty terrible

Yeah Spanish here, sadly this is still a thing for some reason and yeah, the bulls are killed at the end. I think bullfights are slowly disappearing but many people still go see them and many young people too which is something I simply can't wrap my mind around 🥺 But tbh I kinda see change here, they are banned in some parts and everyday there are more people against this torture, I hope to see how they ban this cruel practice from all countries some day 🙏🏻 Though many people see this as if Spain were "losing its heritage and traditions" which I think makes the process painfully slower 😒

Both Nigel & Caridee confirmed that that whole situation was played up for the show, pretty much. Nigel actually found the joke pretty funny. They're still on good terms to this day and even joke about it every now and then on social media.

What makes me happy is that I drive by the La Monumental bullring where this shooting was done almost every week knowing that it's already been 10 years since we stopped allowing bullfights in Catalonia (La Monumental bullring is in Barcelona). The arena is now used for concerts and hosts a bullfighting museum

9:40 I will say, I remember in season 3, when the models did the photo shoot with tarantulas, he explained that. (I’m pretty sure 🤷🏼‍♀️) He was reassuring the girls that there was emergency medical services on site and Eva asked, “if it’s so safe, then why do you need medics?” Mr. Jay said, “We do actually have them at every shoot.”

Nigel said in an interview that he wasn't even upset about the joke and the producers kinda made it into a bigger deal for the show. He said other interesting things happened on the photo shoot even him getting chased by the bull but the producers decided to play up the caridee story line

Bull fighting is not humane and very stressful for the bull causing deterioration from being in a high stress uncomfortable environment. Their natural environment isn’t being stuck in a kennel then let out to provide entertainment for the public. A big NO NO. And to photoshop the end image!!! They could have created a much less stressful situation for the bull but no concern was showed.

I think what would give me anxiety the most being in that situation would be know that bright flashes of light can anger bulls and that if the reflector shined in his face it would have made him charge. (Also, would not put it past ANTM to have purposely shined the light in his face to get footage of him charging at least once. )

The girls really weren't in danger. It was all editing. He seems pretty chill in the back and the charging shots were gotten by antagonizing him. You can see the camera cuts don't line up. Also they wouldn't have time to grab all the equipment and have everyone hide in that small space when the bull charges. Bull fighting is still extremely cruel, but this bull may have just been from someone's farm. I like to hope that's the case and he wasn't forced into a bull fight after...

I’ve had managers that will talk to the whole team when one person makes a mistake instead of directly going to the one person to correct it. It makes everyone feel like they’re doing something wrong instead of developing the person who needed redirection. So frustrating and such a bad way to improve results. Respect is EARNED. Also didn't ALL the judges tell several girls in prior seasons that they need to be able "Hide their emotions" when hurtful things are said ect... It was a joke, and it was funny as hell. If they want their models to be respectful, they should lead by example.

In regards to Caridee's comment, not sure if I would've said something like that. I could see how one could see it as disrespectful, but you have a point, Jessica, about the judges' comments. I've commented before how when the judges say something hurtful, it's labeled as "constructive criticism," but when the models stand up for themselves, the judges call them out for their rude comments. It's a double standard. If you want to have respect, treat others that same way.
