I consider myself a fairly accomplished musician, but I am mesmerized by Luca. A good piano player will play four parts simultaneously to give a full, rich sound. However, usually the left hand plays 2 in harmony along with the right hand taking the other two. Usually these are played in chords with notes separated by 3rds or 5ths, so the fingers can reach the keys. We don’t find piano players playing 4 different rhythms and melodies simultaneously by 4 fingers. Luca dissects every component of every instrument, of which one of them could be the piano player’s part. He then adds the main drum, bass and guitar on top of the rest in this insane series of layers. His brain is somehow able to mentally see each note, beat, sound and then lays down the tracks on top of each other in real time. You will see some musicians with tech that allows them to start a sone with a drum beat, record and then continues to play the recorded 4-8 bars, then the musician will add a bass line, record and then have tech replay that along with the previous recorded drum beat to then have 2 playing…but the tech is playing at that point and not the artist…then these artist will maybe add guitar and vocal in real time over the recorded sounds. Even that is impressive when done well…but this guy somehow does them all at one time. He crams in all the layers by having the ability to know which to play and not play to make the song completely full. Truly amazing. I haven’t read his bio yet, but will do that, I expect he went to Juilliard on full scholarship or another world class musical school. Fanstastico Luca!! Keep the music coming. You are amazing.
