Can we design electronic devices that do not fail on 1 bad capacitor that cost near nothing ? Alex keep up the good work. Your work extends device lifetime, preventing a lot of electronic waste, natural resource usage and emission reduction. You are more a world saver than you think. Easy fix or not this helps!
@robertpage20233 жыл бұрын
It's been my understanding that the mass manufacturing of electronic components are tested and only the best ones are kept back for sale to Military and space uses. The rest, well, all the game and computer and phones get them for public use. As in anything manufactured, there is a 'half life" to its span on earth. Even US..............Just depends upon how well God made YOU.
@robertpage20233 жыл бұрын
@@MattyEngland Yes, you are right but until the manufactured component is tested, you don't know what you've got. Like eggs a chicken lays, Until they come out of the chicken and you "candle" them, you don't know what you've got. "Buk, Buk, Bakcak!"

Well done Alex! One question. Can I use my bench power supply as inject voltage tool?
@dreamcat043 жыл бұрын
Yeah. That should work too. Sometimes you just need fine tips in order to get to small components
@randyr.parker26983 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm not Alex, but yes you can, just make sure not to set the voltage higher than the rail you're working on or you stand the chance of blowing up other components. ALWAYS keep the voltage low, best below the lowest rail of 3.3 volts, but better down around 1 volt, amps it doesn't matter, you can set it high, but not too high, because you don't want to burn the short out till you find out which component is bad, and you also don't want to burn any of the writing off the bad component so you know what to replace it with.
@pablonunez1943 жыл бұрын
Usually power bench suplies go on protection mode when detect shorts that's why the short killer. the short killer gonna go no matters if it is a big short. the short killer can inject around 25 amps if it needed .

Curious as to why all of a sudden laptops are dying from shorted capacitors...For years they were, in my experience, rock solid. I've had to replace a few keyboards and batteries on Dell laptops with 4th Gen Intel cpus but out of the close to 2 dozen I've worked on only 1 was dead and it was clearly liquid damaged.

Just came across your channel and video "randomly" (I'm sure the algorithm is watching and knows exactly what I need, ha!) ... I have a USB C x360 laptop that I've loved that just stopped turning on. I see blinking from the port when I plug in. I've let it sit for months and then it randomly allowed me to turn on and I was able to get all my data off of it. Now won't turn on again. Would love to see if this can be repaired! How do we send in for assessment? Cheers!

when do you NOT WANT TO inject voltage? when is not recommended that you inject power?
@theinstallerguy7863 жыл бұрын
When there isn’t a short.

You need a Fume extractor with HEPA filter. No need for windows. The Filter will take in the bad fumes and output good air. Without a HEPA filter bad fume will go in the fume extractor and come out unfiltered.
