Nice job, about the power button's flex cable broken lock it was probably broken during the other shop attempt to repair. bocz there was a kapton tape holding the lock on place, and based on the others flex cable locks that are on the same board, that kapton tape doesnt seems to be something from factory.

That laptop is a POS I've done port replacements on them a number of times, that port is extremely weak and always breaks! Nice work Sorin.

Totally agree - usb-c port on the rear corner is a totally shite idea. I habe one in my workshop and both USB-C ports have been ripped off the board, including all but 3-4 pads.

Is it not advisable to remove the lead-free solder and replace it with leaded before replacing a chip?

These Spectre laptops are always dying because of the PD chip. At one point Northridge Fix's channel was full of them.

Why don't you find out how to read the chip, show us how it is done, and you can save the program in case you get another one. Maybe some one else needs it! You can show all of us how to read it and save it and reprogram it along with the connections. Thanks
