In regards to your letter/email-If that were me and I wanted to keep the peace I would set conditions on the visit. I would tell everyone that they have to find other things to talk about. You shouldn’t have to “just deal” with it in your own house while you are hosting. Tell those you invite in advance that they cannot bring up politics or they will be asked to leave and there will be a pause in the relationship. And then follow through with it. It is unbelievably rude to go to a family member’s house and spout propaganda and make everyone uncomfortable and you shouldn’t have to deal with that after hosting and cooking and cleaning! Sorry that was so long!

How does anyone think it’s okay to go into someone else’s home and start spouting political stuff they know you don’t believe in, just go have a good time and leave politics out of it. We host every year our kids and grandkids they get together and have fun end of story if someone came in doing that they wouldn’t get invited the next time
