I reckon they flogged that car knowing that was shot to bits …People huh ! They probs put engine oil in the gearbox seeing the level of bodge jobs already done . But at least you’re putting it back together properly this time as much as you can for her budget . Nice job mate 👍

Deffo looks like new discs as well as pads are called for. 😮

Mark I would consider checking the Can belt condition too, considering the bodge's, if only to cover yourself!😐

One question nobody's asked ; was the engine overfilled with oil or are the engine breather(s) blocked creating pressure in the crankcase? Please, please please check those first or replacing the rear main oil seal will be a total waste of time and you'll end up doing the job all over again at your expense!

My daughters 5 year old Ford KA+ has been slipping out of gears the garage just said it needs a new gearbox it has only done 50,000 miles. Not very happy with this as it was purchased from New from the Ford Dealership

Defo engine oil in the box, prob why it has failed. Good news is it will be fine once you've done your magic on it Mark 🙂

I would've expected the fella who refurbed the gearbox would've changed the seal. Did you ask him Mark?

I have seen this type of bodge plenty of times before, why they have to use drywall screws is beyond me! Do it properly or not at all!

IT looks like engine oil to me i would take the fly wheel off and have a check as the front crank seal looks like its also leaking maybe advise the customer too get both done at the same time as engine oil leak will be picked up and advised on next mot

They have done a bodge job on the body, makes you wonder, if they just put engine oil, in the gearbox.

Engine oil is thinner, than gearbox oil.
