First thing I noticed was the way he tied his belt. A true story, I was training in Shotokan in college for about 6 months, I was tested twice and went from white to blue in that time, my original sensei used to have another black belt come in once in awhile, that sensei saw me when I was a white belt, months later he took over the class because my original sensei was a cop and no longer had the time to teach the class. The new sensei accused me of not earning the belt and didn't believe I ever tested for it, I had the certificate at home and should have shown him, he kicked me back down to white belt, I was pissed and stayed, he was a really good sensei and I eventually got my blue belt back and eventually purple before tearing my meniscus doing some stupid jump spinning kicks on my own I wasn't trained to do.
