For all the talk that Saleh and Douglas were top candidates, both interviewed elsewhere and only the jets made an offer. We need someone who isn't afraid to push back.

Did they specifically say they were looking at him as a HC candidate? I would imagine it be more as a position coach in the NFL. I'm honestly kinda surprised WVU is looking at him given his lack of coaching experience and no involvement in the college game.

Eric Bienemy was on two Superbowl teams that Andy Reid calls the plays and is the default OC. Bienemy on DC did okay but note that the new regime didn't hire him. Bienemy would not be a good hire, he is another Saleh with players, he is player friendly, we need accountability. I agree that becht is even less desirable, what the hell has he shown as a coach at all?

Anthony Becht was a TE drafted the year the Jets had four first round selections. He interviewed at the college he attended. Don't think he would be a good HC. He hasn't been much more than a position coach.

As much as Anthony Becht was a good head coach in the XFL there is a big difference than the NFL. Players in the XFL are trying to prove themselves to get into the NFL. Players in the NFL have nothing to prove because they are at the highest level in American Football. I think that he might have personality issues at the NFL level even though he played there in the past.

I watch a ton of soccer, plenty of bad players are good managers. Sitting on the bench watching what's going on, having people constantly tell you what you're doing wrong, etc. Bad players can be great coaches, they see the game differently in all seriousness. I don't want Becht though.

Jets need a serious head coach, not another 1st time HC who's gonna spend 1-2 seasons learning what he's even supposed to do and has no idea how to establish a culture. It didn't work with Mangini, Gase, Bowles, Salah/Ulbrich and it wouldnt work with Becht. Probably wouldnt work with Glenn either. Vrabel or Flores should be your 1st calls, and if they dont answer then maybe give Rex another run.

The Jets have to stop hiring H/C that have never been a H/C in the NFL before. Since Parcells Groh,Edwards, Mangini, Ryan, Bowles, and Salah are all first time H/C. just Gase was a H/C. it probably is a real long shot, but my first choice would be Vrabel. he could be a CEO type. Aaron Glenn is probably an excellent candidate to be a H/C. but right now he is not what the Jets are looking for.
