If anyone has watched McAfee regularly it is known Rodgers (and his best friend AJ Hawk) and Vrabel respect each other. who knows how well they would go as player and coach but I think Aaron has been humbled enough to let Vrabel have full control and, honestly , as the recent report in the Athletic shows, Rodgers control was overstated significantly.

@knicknack4511 What? Tyrod Taylor has been on like 6 teams and is 36 years old. He isn't good. He was a 6th Rd pick. He is lucky to be on a roster. There is a better chance of Rodgers playing until he is 50 than Tyrod being a All Pro QB

Vrabel likely will only go to the jets if he sees an experienced gm he likes and also knows wont let woody interfere.. guys like mike greenberg , a cap guy , wont do it. I agree totally that the jets dont fire coaches and gms easily. They cite idzik but he basically fouled up so badly there was no choice. One of the problems is we make excuses for failure, it is personnel, it is the coach is still learning ( i was hearing that about saleh post being fired), or ' it was bc of macagnans bad picks, it takes time to fix'. If you look at saleh, ppl say ' he won 7 games w zach wilson yada yada yada,he had a top 5 defense'. Yet the offense sucked every year he was a coach and didnt get better. Also, we saw the same lack of accountability every year, and salehs excuses. Douglas failed to create a decent o line until this year,and he didnt do squat when the line as bad as it was, got injured. More importantly, it is obvious neither he nor saleh had the guts to say no to woody. Starting wilson, not having a competition year 1 and 2, having wilson as backup last year were all woody. Vrabel if he comes here wont be afraid of woody, especially now. He will be paid highly, it will be woody convincing him to come, not him desperate for a job, and it is likely vrabel will get offers from other teams, so unlike saleh snd douglas, who despite being supposedly considered gold, no other team they interviewed with was interested. I think vrabel along with a strong gm will fix the culture issue. Douglas was a non entity with the players and he did nothing to get saleh to actually coach, to make him accountable for the slop.. and no way saleh was tough behind tje scenes, he was the way he was publicly. Reid is not particularly a martinet, he is no Coughglan ( saleh would have done well to talk to him about players and accountability), but he is not lenient with players,same with the other good coaches. Tomlin doesnt rip guys on the field, but you know he rips them in private. I have changed my mind and if they could interest him would love to see Spagnolo interview. He wont take just any job at this point, so he wouldnt put up with woodys bs, and working for reid ,unlike nagy ( god help us, he is another gase) , he really likeky learned from Andy.. Sadly my guess is despite the 33rd group, that it will come down to some up and coming coordinator and some pencil pusher cap guy fir gm so woody and his snot ball boys can once again screw rhe team into the ground.

I like vrabel and flores for the same reason we need an azzhole to undo Saleh gentle parenting style....and connor and joe on vadlands went though all the QBs available next year and as much of a arod non liker as i am he is the best option...its arod or fields tyrod combo ....those arecthe two best options

Rodgers and Travis does some 4th Quarter cleanup work to see what we have in him. We drafted him as 2nd Round level talent and need to get a look at him in limited action next season.

I'm a fan, but I'm also a fellow human - MV shouldn't take the job unless AR is staying because it'll take the long-standing friendship they have, plus that of the new GM and HC, who have to get hired as a team, to have enough influence to stop Woody from wrecking the reboot / retool.

I could see Vrabel and AR forming a good duo for a year. Vrabel is just as demanding as AR but he'll hold AR accountable as well. Or it could be a total disaster and they're constantly clashing. Either way, at this point I'm more interested in who Vrabel would bring with him if he did get the gig.
