@@_lo8241 well in my opinion the current issue with them is not their lack of Gs, but their lack of range. Magic 2s should be more like aim 9L in terms of range, easily catching a plane going Mach 1 2-3 km away, but in the game they appear to me that they have the exact same range as the magic 1s, which while not bad is certainly not the best.

The biggest issue I have with the mirage f1 is that the R530 supers aren’t even CW, they’re pulse, meaning they’re basically chaffed like IR missiles are flared, except you let your target know you’re shooting at them. Something IRs don’t do.

Decidedly, Gaijin still does not know how to adjust a French plane. The Mirage F1 in real life is a great plane with a very good engine power. When I see how the Mirage F1 is on War Thunder, it is to vomit. The worst thing is that it's not the first time and it's even all the time that it's like that. The Problem with the Mirage F1 is Gaijin. The only good performing planes in the french tech trees are the copy paste one. because they re copy paste. We do not know what the future holds for us, but all hopes are lost for me, as I see no reason to keep playin War Thunder. I had high hopes for the F1, yet, all my hopes and dreams are crushed. Maybe not. It is a weird aircraft, one must admit, and we may see future changes to its flight model. From what I've read, the Mirage F1 should have similar turning capabilities to the IIIC. And of course, better energy retention. And thus, to conclude, I do believe that this aircraft's flight model might be subject to change in the upcoming future. But we can only hope.

It is an extremely odd fact to behold. No one actually knows how an actual jet might have been flown in real life. It could be maneuverable, yet, in-game, it is not modelled that way. While in the dev-server, it has a decent energy retention, but not here. And as such, we came to the realm of mere speculation here. And thus the final point. The way flight models are shown in-game will require either extensive knowledge on said aircraft, costing thousands of dollars in interviews, or pure speculation. And as with reality, everything is always murky and blurry, but let us just hope that Gaijin will model it to be the way it was meant to be, competitive.

1:33 Idk I find the Jag GR1A is a very high decent plane when it comes to acceleration, there's better planes sure, but you're also at 10.0 not 11.3. I find at that BR you're pretty quick, particularly when you've dropped your payload and only have your AIM9Gs the Mirage just looks sluggish, like a total bus with wings, I've always had a fast feel with the Jag, maybe its different on the JagA. Watching this thing climb, it looks like it struggles to gain speed going upwards, in my Jag I can easily climb at 45 degrees no problem and gain speed up until 10k feet

The problems you've been experiencing with the 530Fs are due to the fact it uses range gate rather than a speed gate like Sparrows/Skyflash/R-24, etc. Range gating has some advantage over speed gating, but it's usually not worht it. Range gating has the advantage of being able to track targets that are notching you and are less susceptible to switching targets to other targets far away from your target. But that's basically where it ends, unlike speed gating missiles, it's very susceptible to ground clutter, has no level of chaff immunity and no added bonus of hitting (fast approaching) targets without direct lock (like when in pulse mode radar getting chaffed, but missile still tracking plane). Basically think of the 530F as your regular pulse mode radar and sparrows, etc as PD mode, except they don't emit and only receive. It's not limited to just the French SARH missiles, but it mainly only affects them as they have nothing else. Why is it 11.3? No idea, but maybe Gaijin will use its bad stats at 11.3 to justify Magic 2s, instead of putting it at 11.0?

Overal some AAM stats are just completely made up and standardized for balance. Speed and range gate stats are all just weird and for IR missiles we have made up warm up and search times. Those things overal just need a revamp.

The radar is MTI and sees the plane perfectly and doesn't see the chaff....but the missile as it's modelled right now doesn't have a doppler filtered seeker, so the misisle seeker actually sees chaff .... and if your radar illuminates both the target plane and the chaff, the chaff will have a much larger RCS so the missile goes for that, even if your actual radar is locked onto the plane and doesn't even see the chaff at all. It will literally go for chaff liek 20km away fromt he actual target rather than for the target that your radar is locking, which is absolutely stupid.

So once the missile flies off the rails it's mostly independent, checking only if the radar is in tracking mode(TRK) and das it. So you get these scenarios where the radar and the missile don't agree on what they're tracking. The alternative you propose, and is circulating around as the truth, would basically entail that every single radar in this game operates on some FLOOD mode when it's illuminating everything everywhere when it's in TRK mode.

At 14:00ish, you were the one locking Razor, I’m fairly sure. Dunno if RWR goes off if you lock a friendly or it’s some kind of bug. You’ll see the tracking indicator on the radar screen and the green box around him- F-4 could have been locking him too, though. Also Stickerless doesn’t know what he’s talking about, props in jets are annoying as all buggery, unless the guy is some insane gamer like Smigol just playing around and getting more kills than the actual jets. That’s the only exception.

Barely a week later after this video, they've made a lot of fixes to the F1C's flight model. It's... a lot more tolerable to actually fly around, it even has combat flaps now which can help for some extra AoA when needed. The rudder issue has (mostly) been fixed and the plane is a lot more compliant to aiming. It's still not the most amazingly maneuverable, nor powerful, but it can maybe handle itself in some fights now. That said, as a weapons platform, it's still somewhat clumsy to use. It also feels like suffers from "oh look, a plane that isn't an F-4 or MiG-23, kill it" syndrome or "oh shit, a Mirage" syndrome, in that it just feels like it gets extra focus from the enemy team, and you end up playing bait more than anything else. Potentially decent 11.0 performance now... at 11.3. That said, I'm feeling like adjustments will continue to be made somewhat frequently, so while it was maybe DOA, it seems like it will eventually find itself in an okay spot performance-wise.

Devs said that 530F is going to be fixed... it's not performing as it should. Also... The engine in game rates around 6800kg , right? Well, in reality the plane has 7.200... Given those 2 (basic) things , probably there will be small details here and there that they missed. So, it's ok to not like it, because probably it's not completely finished... yet.

And I remember a talk we had stating that their actual problem in F.1 started with F-16s ...the example of DEFYN straggle against Phantoms... shouldn't be an issue, in WVR dogfight F.1 would outplay the Phantom relatively easy... The other thing I have in mind is ...in game we are the epitome of "tree huggers"...we think of 5km as high altitude ( most players do, I don't). The thing is I don't have the plane to check out...but can we check some duels( at least there can happen) in higher altitudes (over 10km) ... ? Just for reference in case it's just a meta thing and not really with the plane or how it's modelled etc.

from what i see, in terms of pure weaponry, 530F are WAY behind their actual capabilities.... i do not own F1C yet, but i already see how bad it will be compared to IRL performacnes. It's not crap, it's badly modeled. Hispanos mk v just, this patch, got damage: half their shots didn't do any. Super mystere for more than a year didn't have a third of its thrust, etc, etc. Not to mention ground forces. French planes extremely underperform even vs planes they overperformed against.

Although not as impressive or easier to fly as JA-37 Viggen, Mirage F1 is not a bad plane at all. You definitely flown it very well mate. Hopefully gaijin will fix the radar abilities to lock faster with Super 530 missiles as well as fix the missiles it self. In Iran - Iraq war the Iraqi air force back then even managed to shoot a small number of the Iranian F-14 Tomcat.

This plane is here for one reason only, and Gaijin has accidentally disclose that reason on dev server. This is a French link between 3rd and 4th gen figter jets. As soon as next gen drops in near future the F1C is going to get Magic 2 to be stop gap solution to grind Mirage 2000, just as Mirage IIIE is right now. Decent but nothing to right home about like all previous fighter jets before and until we get Rafale its not going to change.

Just after release the 530F literally had placeholder R530 stats. Rn it's fixed but the missile is still overweight. I already reported the absolute screwed rudder behavior on the dev server but ofc no response to that at all.
