I'll never forget the time a tornado said Aim-9L's were too easy to dodge. "Just turn off your afterburner and turn" only to eat that exact missle about 10 seconds later. I guess he didn't turn off his afterburner and turn.

@@chrisrosales4268 that’s funny af. Like a tornado ever has a chance to dodge a 9l, it burns so hot (even without afterburner) that a rear aspect launch is virtual death 9 times out of 10.

Protip: If your plane doesn't have flares but is capable of carrying unguided rockets, bring them in as they act as rudimentary flares(they fool 9Ls too!). When a missile is flying towards you, throttle down and shoot some off and 9/10 times the missile will follow after the rocket(doesn't work if the missile is within 1-2km rear-aspect). I hope this helps anybody who sees this!!

No rockets don't fool AIM-9Ls lol, i clapped many smartass rocket F-1 users with my event tornado and i tried to do the rocket trick with T-2 and AIM-9Ls from A-6Es still track my plane even after pressing i, turning, and firing all rockets. It does flare R-60Ms and AIM-9Es though

For all who don't know this... If you land without any damage, you don't have to wait for repair and rearm time. You can leave your plane as soon as you come to a full stop and spawn back in immediately. Cheers

you don't even need to be stopped, anything below 30kph will work. if you time it so the 3 second J-out ends right as you dip below that speed you can get back in the air ridiculously quick, again assuming you're untouched.

Fun tip from someone who uses the R60 quite a bit: While the R60 is only really good for around 2km in a rear aspect against anything going quick, the missile does very well to about 3.5km from a side or above aspect launch, with around 3km for these types of launches being optimal. Also when trying to kill anything going well above supersonic, avoid rear aspect launches above around 1km. The R60 is quick but not fast if yk what I mean.

​@@noos3ba550su25 can be played as a base bomber/ Ground unit destroyer or crappy support fighter, base bombing/ Ground unit destroying is kinda boring and maybe infuriating but it's kind of steady in rp income, the best setup for this I believe is (r60m-500kg bomb-500kg bomb- s8k rocket pod- gun pod) put the bombs on the far pylons which are next to the r60m and put the gunpods next to the fusalge (only 1 on each wing) and next to it the rocket pod, I recommend only 1 gunpod as 2 gunpods is overkill but 1 gun pod on each wing is great because it is a secondary if you set up seprate binds for them, you simply go to base which hopefully isn't stolen by an su7 or something and bomb it then killing Ground units with rockets and once out of rockets with guns and r60m any planes you see for self defense or shoot it at ai planes once you want to rtb, you need to be mindful of enemies at all times such as a10 and f5c and harrier that will either snipe you with missiles or just gun you down while doing this, but if successful it is good amount of rp, or you can be the shitty fighter where you try to catch people speedrunning to bases and r60m them like Milan or f4c which don't have flares but if they have flares be sure that they don't see you like if you went to space and don't see you, after the base bombing frenzy you can try to support your teammates or try to sneak up on a6e/a10 and gun them down but be careful of other a10s behind them that are still flying to battle, when engaging a10 try to be way above so that they can't reach you because you have both speed and climb advantage, a10 outturn you tho so don't dogfight them just boom and zoom, you are kinda doomed if you see f5c or mig21mf because they are way better than you in mobility and engine so try to somehow make them overshoot and try to hit them, if you spot flareless plane just r60m them if the missile will hit, easy kill from a pro gamer, anyways yeah idk if I left something feel free to ask I suppose

It's literally always a good idea to flare when dodging bullets in an A10. You can look forward and focus on dodging and dump flares in case you get missiles fired at you. The thing had hundreds of flares lol. You can afford to use them in situations like that in order to focus more on dodging.

I have to add, at high altitudes (6000m+), the R3R’s paired with the Sapphire radar set allows 8km+ head on shots while you are moving at M1.3. This intro to BVR is rewarding, even if the enemy flares (no chaff :D).

9:24 If you haven’t sustained any damage you can leave the plane without waiting for your repair/reload timer to finish and it’ll let you instantly spawn back in. Helps to avoid being strafed and all around just get off the ground quicker

I personally prefer the SMT over the MF as the extra engine power is a life saver at times, especially when the initial reversal of an F5C does not go to plan and you either have to GTFO or at least reset the fight - the MF is just extremely lacking in that department, ESPECIALLY coming from an SMT going back to the MF you find yourself wanting some more thrust when afterburning. The guns, as you said, are honestly amazing, the stall control you retain is incredible, especially with landing flaps you can dab on those haters for hours before even thinking about falling out of the sky - 10.3 is the perfect BR for the plane, one of the few jets still fun to play, and honestly, one of the only reasons I still play this game - everything else this game has to offer is just getting worse every patch with no signs of getting better any time soon

Yeah, SMT is hands down my favourite aircraft right now, such a joy to fly and you get to dunk on premiums. One of the few aircrafts I have 3.0ish K/D with lol. My only complainant is that a competent F-5 player will dunk on you, or at least make it impossible to kill him. Fortunately most F-5 players are uhhh, not very good :)

​@@m1sz3lpl24 yes, F-5Cs are the bane of my existence in the SMT - there's this power equilibrium between the planes, if you get on his six and he does not go into a sustained rate fight he is dead, if he is on your six and you have to avoid his guns, you are dead. If you try to reverse him but do not kill him within the first overshoot, you are also practically dead. Same goes for him though, if you do not airbreak and instead go up and over he is boned too. While the SMT isn't my best K/D plane with "only" a 4 K/D that is still mighty solid lol.

@@mr_confuse I'll be honest I mosty try to avoid directly dogfighting F-5s as its a bit too much of a risk, if you screw it your one chance you're dead. I usually just extend away, if I can. Most annoying matches are where that once F-5 just won't stop chasing you and the entire match is wasted, as you can't really do anything semi safely other than extend away ever so slowly xD

Yea, mig 21mf is my favorite jet. That sweet spot of speed acceleration, first turn rate and r60 is great. Also being 10.3 it dont have to face any top tier bullshit. Worst thing can happen is 11.3 f4-s with aim7f but easy dodge is sufficient for his radar. Overall great plane

the major thing with the mig-21MF other than the frame, engine , and r-60's is it gets flairs . many jets would be amazing at 10.3 like the 10.3 viggen in the Swedish tree but it dosnt get flairs and is limited to 2 air-to-airs that arnt even as good as the r-60. the 10.3 viggen used them in real life and its modeled in the aircraft and to see something like this at the same br makes me want then to either give the viggen flairs or lower it to 10.0

I love this plane and also the MiG-21SMT, and contrary to 99% of the playerbase I take 2x R60 and 2x R-3R, I start the game climbing and at altitude I can consistently get kills with the radar R-3s some times even at low altitude you can get some front aspect kills with them, they get a lot of players off guard, plus its way more fun when you get kills with the radar 10g missiles lol.

I remember the days where the MIG-21MF was the top tier with no countermeasures. loved to dodge AIM-9J's and AIM-7's and watching the enemy team be baffled. we didn't even get the MIG-21Bis soon after Russia either, they added the MIG-23M before they added the MIG-21bis-SAU to the German tech tree. at least made top tier Air German players reliable.

I've played a LOT of the 21MF but since the update I've been having horrible luck in it.. 2 months ago i could go 3/4 kills on 4 missiles but people flare much more now and it almost feels like the 10.3MM got shafted by the 12.0 increase,much more 11.3 games.

I also use an order to block any possible blind hunt/avenger from the enemy, and if they use one while i'm still on the runway, i'll just "J" out and get back in to "send" the order to the other side, Overshooting the runway with the tornado is easy if it comes with a bit too much speed since it has no chute and reverse thrust is not as effective

I own 1 premium American jet But since I didn’t want to ruin anybody’s fun and I loved the insanity of the payload, it’s an A-6 Intruder and I load 28x500 lb bombs. I use it to annihilate convoys and ground targets to grind out other planes

I only do it if I know the plane chasing me has the ability to carry missiles which can be hard to flare clore range in rear aspect. I don't bother pre-flaring for something like the F-5C with its very weak overload AAMs.

I got used to the Gsh-23, so I don't find it that hard to aim anymore. In general I really like Russian guns; low ammo, low velocity, but extremely good damage.

I got this thing and i'm about to get R60s, please explain to me how to get over the horrible energy retention. maybe it gets way better when i get the upgrades but rn i suffer with this thing, to the point it feels like the MiG19S feels like a straight up better plane. Whenever i enter any fight at all, i get 2 good sharp turns and then i'm an easy kill. This results in me being forced to run away from the enemy 99% of the time, which i hate having to do. maybe i'm just terrible at this game, maybe this problem is solved by the time you spade the aircraft, but rn it feels like the 19S is just better in every way, even considering it doesn't have missiles or flares or a proper radar, or at that even any ammo.
