This video was finished on Dec 12 but due to some complications, it took a while to get out which is why I talk about 2023 in a video published in 2024. Anyways, I cranked out another fully painted army in this video! That's 2 in 2023 and that makes me super happy. Army painting/painting for games was a thing I was working on this year so to go from 0 painted armies to 2 is a great feeling. Hope you guys had a great holiday season and here's to the new year :beers:

Everytime you show the clip of the resin spill...I relive the gut punch. Congrats on a BUSY and productive year. I am so glad your studio is growing and pumping out such top tier content.
@Ziforigin10 ай бұрын
yeah the gut punch feeling is real. I'm terribly clumsy myself so I have a strict rule not to keep any painted minis away from a hobby area. I even have a special locker on the table to put half-painted stuff away while batch painting. Can't count how many times i just dumped a mini into a my wet palette -_-""

I appreciate that you mentioned that you do your merch yourself locally rather than relying on a big company who cares more about margins, it inspires more confidence in the quality. Will be checking it out

I remember asking you on stream about batch painting a few years ago, and you were almost nauseous about the idea. Great to see the results, and watching you evolve your skillset into this haunted realm of batch painting! Thanks for the video Scott!

i am totally happy with busts and single model dispaly painting videos, i actually would love to see more content that is truly artistic in nature and exploring more of the art side of things. Awesome content still, i do enjoy me some army paint jobs. :)

Thanks for this video. We appreciate all you do, whether it's about display painting, batch painting, talking about painting, lights, whatever. We enjoy it! Thanks!

Black base rims are the way, the truth, and the light 🤘
@ElPeggo3310 ай бұрын
These look great. Pausing at 9:20 to say I always use black for the rims of the models and for the tray. Just looks clean. I also do the individual recesses black because I will prime the tray with a rattle can and then just paint around them. I like your approach to tray recesses, though. I imagine it looks more realistic, when you remove models from a unit during a game.

I recently picked up ASOIAF and it’s quickly grown to be my favorite miniatures game. Any tips for getting a Meta started at my local store? Congrats on getting a full army knocked out!
@Miniac10 ай бұрын
Get hooked into your LGS and ask if you can host an ASOIAF night. Bring 2 armies to teach people how to play. Find facebook groups/discord groups for your local area and ask around to see if anyone plays to get a pick up game.

The other thing about getting a army fully painted like this, you can play with it, enjoy it and then when you notice some models you'd like a bit nicer you can go back and crank them up to the next level later.

Fantastic video Scott, i love how you keep making these newer vids. Everything is there for us the audience to ecperince, and to me (white goo joke included) they just feel waaaaay more polished each time. Keep up the awesome work bud, your are a superstar. Oh yeah, almost forgot to say thank you so much for not pushing a brand on us either! It seems like every other video maker lately cant help but push a particular line of products at us, but you still give us so much diversity in the brands you use, and simply let us make up our *own* mind. Legend

You need to paint up crews for Malifaux or Judgement Eternal Champions. They would really lend themselves to your painting of each model individually/uniquely rather than batch painting!
@6Grey6malkin610 ай бұрын
Or Battletech, if you want some sci fi. One $30 purchase is a full lance. 4 models and you’re done, baby! The only problem is you’ll want a lance for every major house, minor faction, famous mercenary company…
@Aquateenmitch10 ай бұрын
I agreea! Malifaux, Judgement, or Moonstone models would make way more sense for someone who doesn't like batch painting. Unique sculpts and a great game to play them in keeps me interested in hobbying and putting the time into each model.

Awesome stuff! Great work and congrats on completing your army! As for the "necessary evil" of army painting, while it's awesome to see you tackle army painting, man, you should play some skirmish games. Paint up 4 minis and play some Relicblade, that's a full force for most factions. Or some Space Station Zero by your good friend Vincy V. A handful of dudes for Zona Alfa. Etc. 4-8 models and you're golden! Fun to explore different styles of model, too, without going too deep in, and still having a game to play with them.

My only gripe with the bases is, that the water on them doesn’t blend into the water on the movement trays. Here, a bit of planning would’ve gone a long way. Still pretty cool though!

Helpful vid. I'm not really interested into delving into the GoT miniatures universe exactly, but I found some cheap armies on ebay. Greyjoys looked pretty "generic raider" but also really awesome. I also felt they would look decent in a group with a sort of drab, washed out color to their leather and cloth with the overall ramshackle look being what ties them together as an army.
@gomezzara_creative11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing this experience papa scott! It's great to see the amount of progress of this year! I'm with the same pace with battletech! Regarding the paint scraping issue, it may be that the miniature needed a wash with soap and water to remove oils of all kinds (Hand, mold release,e tc).

I seem to be the opposite of most folks. I prefer batch painting - I know what colors & techniques to use on each figure and the process is relaxing. Individual figures are a mystery, with constant questions about what a certain bit or bob should be painted. Its an anxiety filled process that can threaten to derail a whole army project.
