I wanted to spend a few days watching as much video uploads of Dr Zakir Naik BEFORE draing any conclusions. Now after 3 days and MANY videos, I humbly feel his modus operandi is such that no one can win an argument/discussion with him. Yes he does have intellect and a in depth 'recall' knowledge of Islam and comparative faiths (although not always 100% accurate when time is taken to cross ref his claims and assertions). However, his style, I am right and self important approach just doesn't strike me as being commensurate with a truly humble and pious man. I think he should not only listen to the question but allow the person asking the question the time to query and respond to his comments ...instead of just throwing alot of information at them before saying thankyou brother/sister ..NEXT! It's all very onesided and intimidating; moreso as the person asking the question is surrounded by not 1 or 2 but several ominous people (security?) quote: .."I am a doctor" (clearly mentioned to pull rank, but being a doctor or a man or a whatever doesn't neccessarily mean you win the argument or your point is always right. A very pompous comment to make). I take note of his intellectual skill/ability but he would not be someone I personally would ever like to meet or ask a question of ..and definately not discuss an issue or a query with. No offence to anyone ..just saying it how I feel it. Peace n health to all mankind!

Again playing with words zakir, give it a rest. You don't get cholesterol, if you eat vegetables. It is a fact and the question asked is why Islam allows meat (or says eat whatever you want) which increases cholesterol and it is also harmful to people? But on the other hand Hindu philosophy advises its followers to eat fruits and vegetables. According to high philosophies of Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism, even though "Atman" is in everything from living and non living beings, plant products can be consumed and it causes relatively less harm (or less karma) to Bhumi beings or Human beings (Hindu sanskrit word for earth is Bhumi - >Humi -> Humus -> Humans) Since Zakir plays with words, we have to be a bit elaborate before asking a question to him since a thorn has to be taken out with a thorn. The question should be Why muslims with high cholesterol and diabetes who are supposed to follow Islamic teachings no matter what happens, switches to Hindu vegetarian diet when doctors advice them not to eat meat. Is it not against islam since you restrict yourself to eating vegetables after being diagnosed with high Cholesterol and you are supposed to eat whatever you want and not restrict yourself? or Islamic teachings are wrongly advising its followers to eat whatever they want without being specific since non veg foods can cause bodily harm? Does it mean, doctors or scientists or scientific Hindu scriptures or high philosophies are better protectors of Human beings than Islam? (I called it Hindu vegetarian diet because muslims when they are in good health make fun of Hindus as veg eating weak people) LOL Sugar analogy was pathetic. Let us see some facts Sugar does not cause Diabetes in people who don't have diabetes BUT Red meat or non vegetarian increases cholesterol and the chances of heart disease eventually in people who don't have cholesterol People who are already diabetic are not only advised not to take direct sugar but also indirect sugar in the form of simple Carbohydrates and Fat (including red meat) People who have diabetes can take food with low Glycemic index such as Complex carbohydrates (chick peas, Brown rice), vegetables (pretty much everything except Carrots which has sugar and potatoes with high glycemic index) and fruits (apple with low glycemic index). High fat milk causes cholesterol too but skimmed milk is good, In other words vegetarians have lot of choices, even though Hindu divine scriptures ask us to be vegetarians without being specific about which ones to eat. But on other hand Red meat or Non vegetarian in general increases cholesterol levels and could cause stroke eventually and Islam does not care about it and it says you can eat whatever you want. and by the way, most of Zakir's arguments are based on " If you are wrong, it is okay for us to be wrong also". Mr Zakir two wrongs don't make a right.

Now sticking to the discussion, lets delve deeper into the historical background of the term AURAT. In Persian and Kurdish, the word AWRAT (or AURAT) has been used to mean 'woman'. In Persian, this use of the word is uncommon and a bit archaic. But In Urdu, AURAT is practically the only way to say 'woman'. Although it comes from the Arabic word AWRAH, this word is not used to mean 'woman' in Arabic. The original Arabic word AWRAH comes from the root ‘ayn-wâw-râ’. The basic verb of this root, ‘awira / ya‘waru, means 'to be blind in one eye, to be one-eyed'. One derived verbal form of this root is ‘awwara / yu‘awwiru 'to deprive of one eye; to damage, mar, spoil'. Some nouns derived from this root meaning are ‘awâr 'fault, blemish, defect, flaw, imperfection' and a‘war (m.) ‘awrâ’ (f.) 'one-eyed'. The word AWRAH itself means defectiveness, faultiness, deficiency, imperfection, pudendum, GENITALS, weakness, weak spot etc.. As a technical term in Islamic law, the extended sense of PUDENDUM has been defined to mean the part of the body that must be covered for the sake of basic decency: for men, from the navel to the knees, and for women, the whole body except for the face, hands, and the feet. Some Muslim jurists over the centuries, with no justification in the sources of Shariah, increased the definition of woman's AWRAH (GENITALS)to mean the entire woman, with nothing excepted. This fit in with the institution of "purdah" which restricted women to their homes and made them cover their faces. The view of woman as nothing more than something to be completely covered explains how the meaning of the word AWRAH became transferred from GENITALS to the very identity of Woman herself. It is a reflection of the social status of woman in Islam, confined to purdah and completely veiled, that in Urdu Woman can only be spoken of as "she whose entire being is veiled." But what is worse is the original semantic implication still underlying this word: defect, deformity, weakness, genitals etc. It wrongs all womankind to designate them with such a derogatory term. The language we use affects the way we perceive reality. Calling Woman a "VAGINA" is a putdown that continually lowers her social and even existential status. To give women the respect they deserve, Urdu speakers need to stop calling them "‘AURAT" and use another word.

Somebody please answer my question- How am I supposed to believe in hadith when there are so many ridiculous hadith floating around such as these: "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain" (Aisha RA about Muhammad SAW) Sahih Muslim 4:2127 "The Apostle of Allaah(saws) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of Apostle of Allaah(saws) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives IN THE PRESENCE OF THEIR HUSBANDS WHO WER UNBELIEVERS. So, Allaah the exalted sent down the Qur’anic verse “And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hand posses.” Sunan Abu Dawood 2:2150 "...So Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to them: If you so like, you may go to the camels of Sadaqa and drink their milk and urine." Sahih Muslim 16:4130 I'm not even going to get started with the hadith about the wives of the Prophet (SAW) and the scandals including the scandal of Mariya (RA) in Hafsa's (RA) house. Am I supposed to reject some hadith and accept others? There are so many contradicting and wrong things that I see. Am I supposed to take some of Islam and leave the rest? Sana Qadeer Okay, let me explain. The Qur'an is your ONLY source for Islam. Here is a good tip: If the Hadith are CONTRADICTING the Qur'an, then they are DEFINITELY not right. Forget hadith for a second. The Qur'an contains no error. If you believe in Muhammad (peace be upon him) then you believe in the Qur'an. The hadith are something on the side. The hadith were NOT revealed by Allah or Muhammad (peace be upon him). They were literally wrote down by random people. See, some hadith are reliable, like if a hadith says to treat your wives with respect or that both men and women have the right to pursue science (that is actually a hadith) these hadith are reliable because the Qur'an supports men and women's rights. If a hadith says to rape and kill, the Qur'an is AGAINST that, in the Qur'an, it says that killing one person is the same as killing all of humanity; obviously, it's a bad sin. You accept all of the Qur'an, because that's Islam. Some people ignore the hadith, but there are very good hadith. You do NOT have to live by the hadith. You live by the Qur'an, and the hadith are all just there if you want some of them.

There are certain bodily actions and hormone work outs behind that. The world is not gone when we sleep, but the world is still there and everybody else can see us sleeping. We feel the world even when we sleep and that's why we wake up by the external disruptions like sound, light, heat etc. We dream in our sleeps and that is another example that our mind and conscious are still there and not gone to anywhere. This world is a big reality and not any illusion. Only people with idle minds create such "illusions". Sleeping is nothing but a rest for our body and a mean to regain or retain our strengths.

TRUTH teller why are you dodging my question I asked a very simple question, why do we do not see the world when we are asleep where does it disappears to? you don't have any answers, think on it contemplate deeply where does the world disappears? From a detached point of view, both waking and dream are similar experiences. Within the dream, there are others who validate my dream experience. I have conversations with them and I assume (as a dreamer) that they see the same external (dream) world as I do. It is only from the vantage point of having woken up that I am able to see that this world was internally generated and (no longer) has any objective existence. Of course I feel that I am unable to take a position from outside of this waking world to look at the situation in a similar fashion. And so I call the waking world "real" and the dream world ‘false’. But in fact I do take such a stand every time I go to sleep. In the dream, the waking world is negated and in deep-sleep, both waking and dream are negated. If we imagine a dream A in which we go to sleep and have a dream B. When we "wake up" (from dream B into the dream A), we will say that the dreamt dream was ‘only a dream in the mind’, and that we are now (in dream A) in the real world. Of course, when we ‘really’ wake up into the waking world, we realize that both A and B were dreams and think that we are now in reality. Except that we are now effectively in dream C! So long as we continue to believe in the objective reality of a separate world, we have not really woken up! The bottom line, with respect to this third objection, is that the experience of an external world does not mean that the world is real. Of course, we assume that it does, but an assumption is no proof at all. Who I really am is not the waker, which is Consciousness identified with this material body and believing in a separate gross universe. Both body and world effectively disappear when I go to sleep. And I am not the dreamer, which is Consciousness identified with the mentally created subtle body and dream world. These creations disappear when I wake up or go into deep sleep. The reality is that I am the Consciousness which is doing the identifying; that which is present throughout all of the three states and which does not change. When I enter the dream, I (now the dreamer I) forget all about the waker I, believing that I am now completely awake in this mentally created dream world. And when I enter deep sleep, I forget both. All these experiences come and go but I, as Consciousness, remain unchanging as that in which they all arrive and depart. They are transient and their reality is relevant only to the ‘I’ which temporarily rules in that particular state. I, as Consciousness, am the only absolute reality. Recall again the metaphor of the actor playing several roles.
