Bro he isn't comparing, just because she pointed out Muslim men, he gave an example telling that this doesn't happen only in muslim but happens in all other religions. Yes there is....First wives permission is a compulsion or an option There are only under dire circumstances one can have another wife. And equal treatment to all and all must be happy( this is the hardest..men can't do justice among their children, siblings and others you think they are capable to handle more than one wife..even Allah knew it was impossible..hence the clause

When men have extra marital affairs, do they ask their wives and get their permission..when they misbehave and divorce them, they ask for their permission..Marry two women is not easy..you have to support two families equally...but extra marital affairs and divorcing one wife and marrying another is easy..but in islam extra marital relationships are not allowed..and any man who don't do justice between two wives will be punished..

@@truthistruth80 your reply was on point but there's one more things for @DahamNavinda that the time all these sculptures were made women were totally dependent on men and when some man would die leaving his wife or children, other people there would start adulting (idk what is that called lol) her and so other men would make them their wives in order to save them from those people cause at that time even the step siblings were also seen with bad eyes specially those who made siblings after a particular age and not since when they were kids.. so that time people who wanted to save the women from those situations they used to marry them.. and the only thing left is 'se*' so that's because every human has the desire and so the men were made to marry more than one wife on the condition that only if they would be just with both or all of their wives and that's why need to fulfill their desires too.... Also What should One do if his first wife is Barren and they have tired everything??See One of the ways, He can compensate her to be a parent is my marrying a second and sharing the upbringings of those children with her. Also there are situations where the female initiates the second marriage e.g if she has Cancer then her husband can opt to marry a second wife while she is alive and stabilise his family.

This is what I have read about Hindu dharma:- In ancient times, all men and women in society were allowed to have only one life partner throughout their life except royal families and kings. Kings were allowed to have multiple wives as it benefitted their kingdom in many ways like maintaining political relationships with other kingdoms,avoiding wars, keeping peace etc. Whenever any man had multiple wives, many times his wealth, property, family time was never divided properly within all wives and their children. Some of his kids start feeling they don't get justice in family once they grew and it would create hostile situation among step brothers- sisters. Men with multiple wives suffered horrible old age days compared to men with single wives as later on none of their families was completely happy. Therefore polygamy should be avoided to get peaceful society.

I remember our neighbors over 2 decades ago, was a Muslim family. The man had 2 wives. At first when the family moved next door to us, the man only had 1 wife. about a year later, this man married his 2nd wife and the 2nd wife moved into the same house, which I thought was odd as I believed the man should have gotten his 2nd wife her own house and not live with both wives under 1 roof. Since that 2nd wife moved in, there was constant loud verbal arguments coming from this house. The wives definitely did not get along and it got so bad that other neighbors started calling the cops to report domestic violence. Eventually the family moved out about a year later after this man got married to his 2nd wife.

@@Truth65003 polygamy isn't allowed in Islam. Those verses were revealed during war when Muslims died and their women became widow and orphan and were applicable during that time only. Now, there is no war, so no polygamy!! Plus, even if women get widow today, they have financial family support, plus they are in jobs. Lastly, if you want to say that you are following sunnah, then follow it full. Marry widows and even elder women ( Khadija Radiallhu anha was 2 times widow and 16 years elder to prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wasallam). Zakir Naik doesn't have sound knowledge on Islam!!

Look at the west and their high divorce rate, high number broken family which affects children immensely. most Muslim men don't marry more than 1, only a few who has the means to do justice do that and that even only in very few parts of the world. polygamy isn't allowed in Islam. Those verses were revealed during war when Muslims died and their women became widow and orphan and were applicable during that time only. Now, there is no war, so no polygamy!! Plus, even if women get widow today, they have financial family support, plus they are in jobs. Lastly, if you want to say that you are following sunnah, then follow it full. If you can't make equity then it is forbidden in Islam to marry more than one wife. And there is no religious in the world says this. Other religious scriptures don't clear the number of wives. And why women don't have the right to marry more than one wife? Its very biological and psychological brother. Women have menstrual circle in a month. Mostly it stays 4-5 days(bleeding) and before the circle and after the circle they have many mood swings also. That means women should be left for 10 days in the month. But when one woman has more than 1 husbands she has to please them physically but how can she please them biologically...Its very tough for women. Then comes another thing, if a women has more than one husband, when a child will take birth, how can we know who is the father? In ancient time it was not possible. Now we have DNA test but it is very uncultural to do dna test for knowing the father. You can see in the animal kingdom also. One lion lead a group of women. It is very common in nature. And there are many countries, in which women ratio is larger than the male. Men have to take responsibilities of them. In accident, in disease, in war male die more than women. First of all the true fact is that even as per thousand years old Bhagavad Gita, You have to have only legitimate relationship with your legal wife. Even if you want to take to Sanyasam alone , you can't unilaterally take to Sanyasam unless your legal wife agrees for it. The rules in the Bhagavad Gita are very strict as per scriptural texts. Read slokas 16-23 & 16-24 of the Bhagavad Gita for further guidance in this regard.

As a women I will say: Thank you? like, for the well-meant intentions????? Marriage as a social contract should no longer be a condition in order to protect anyone, every single human being regardless its gender, age, or civil state should be protected by their state. And this is an obligation for them (The State) to fulfill, and if not for us to claim. We, as human beings deserve all protection just by existing alone, any other input is absolute nonsense and *negligent.* Statements of this nature promote diminishing human values, case in point the absurd idea of people being treated as property, which is an insane, dangerous, outrageous and outdated belief to spread. *A single woman is never public property. No human being is.* The idea of marriage in the 21st century, polygamy-focused, based in the poor premise of justifying an ancient male hierarchy in order for woman to "be protected" (if you will) its just insanely obsolete and absurd.

It is the survival of generation and it results in obtaining great and good rewards by having righteous children. Anyway, the Lord of the universe must have a reason for any restrictions imposed to the human kind regardless in the context of marriage or any other matters. If we're living in this world without any guidance and guideline, surely we'll be clueless and unjust.

Firstly by nature Women are not polygamous unlike men. If woman have multiple husbands it'll be impossible to identify the father now you'll say we can identify the father with DNA test but DNA aren't accurate plus DNA was discovered recently there was no DNA test may be 200yrs ago and women have to go through menstrual cycles and pregnancy so they can't be a multiple wife. Another thing is if both men and women have multiple spouses then the whole world would be group marriage like she is my second wife its her first husband its his third wife its her fourth husband so on...

Women have same tendency as men Infact even more, just that society has repressed them so much so they don't express themselves. Just tgo to open society you will notice. Periods happen just for a week or so, I am sure men can bear that. Men are not machines anyways. No one is having more children nowadays so there won't multiple years of pregnancy as well. All men in the relationship will adjust just like how they adjust in monogamous relationship. Wrt whose child it is, if all the partners decide on accepting and treating the child born out of the women as their own, there should be no issues. Same happens in Islam as well when a man accepts a widow with a child. He will treat the child as his own right? Like the same. Multiple partners for both men and women is feasible too, people will find a way to limit the partners involved depending on how much they can manage Anyway it is upto the individual to decide and practice what suits them, I am not sure why god is so interested in deciding who should sleep with whom.

Polygamy for woman is not logical, you see, you forgot what dr zaik just said the key for polygamy is responsibility so man (if capable) can satisfy any needs for his wives whether in economy or intimate. Whereas woman incapable of doing that to her 'husbands' for example if she's pregnant, first of all we are not sure who's child is that and even if we know its not fair to the husband that the child doesnt belong to his side who needs more intimate relationship from his wife but its just doesnt feel right just because his wife is pregnant of someone else child

It is just the mind set. During pregnancy for the 3-6 months both will wait without having sex. They do the same in monogamous relationship too. What's the problem there. And I am not saying the husband should not have other wife. They can too. So no problem anyway. And wife goes to work nowadays and they earn as equivalent as men, so they can support the family too.
