In this case the Quran isn't wrong. The answer is in Gen. 32:32: NASB: Therefore, to this day the sons of Israel do not eat the tendon of the hip which is on the socket of the hip, because he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip in the tendon of the hip. The Tafsir seem to be made up. Since they are clearly not aware of what the Quran is referring to. That leaves us with a couple of possibilities: 1. I'm a prophet, because I know the correct answer. 2. The Tafsir are made up, totally unaware of the Biblical narrative. 3. The Tafsir are true, proving Mo was a false prophet. If you learm more detail of the Old Testament, about the live of Noah and Avram in Genesis 9;29 up to Genesis 11:32 and 23:7-8, this is a strange history happen. If we trace back from Avram birth, we find that there is 11 generations lives together. Avram ((0) -Terah (70) - Nahor (99) - Serug (129) - Reu (161) - Peleg (191) - Eber (225) - Salah (255) - Arphaxad (290) -Shem (390) -Noah (890) . The camel meat was forbidden in the torah in the time of moses but the Koran states the same thing :All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel [i.e., Jacob] had made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed. Say, [O Muḥammad], "So bring the Torah and recite it, if you should be truthful. It's important here :before the torah. But what does that mean?. Basically it stating that the camel was indeed forbidden in the torah. Forbidden by Allah. In the same verse : had made unlawful to himself. So Jacob made it not Allah. ask you by He Who sent down the Tawrah to Musa, do you not know that Isra'il once became very ill When his illness was prolonged, he vowed to Allah that if He cures His illness, he would prohibit the best types of drink and food for himself. Was not the best food to him camel meat and the best drink camel milk'.Jacob suffered from Sciatica. He had taken a vow that he would abandon what he liked most in what he ate if Allah cured him of the disease. He was cured and camel meat was what he liked most, so he abandoned it. So the Jews continued to follow Jacob till Allah revealed that now it was forbidden. That's what I thought.

What am I not understand here? As a vow to god, Jacob said he would prohibit HIMSELF ONLY from consuming camel meat and milk. This was before Moses who went on to prohibited it to his followers and the rest of the Jews. Where is the contradiction? Also, this is a Hadith not Qur'an, so you can't call it a contradiction of the Qur'an with itself, i.e. a Quranic contradiction. Please explain.

You did not even read the verse properly. The verse is clearly stating that the LAW forbidding the meat came down in the Torah. Jacob "volunterily" made it impermissible, gave up what he loved despite it being permisible by God. That's why the verse states "himself". This indicates that he did this of his own accord and it was not the law of God. His righteous children all followed him making it forbidden to themselves, following their great fathers oath. The revelation which forbade ALL foods being permisible and abrogating ALL foods is the Torah, which restricted their dietry laws. This significance here is also the fact that the Shariah is abrogating the Mosaic law. And the Shariah forbids the act of making the lawful, unlawful. Hence if you bothered to read the previous verse it gives the believers an alternate to what jacob did, namely give away/spemd what you love. NOT forbid what you love!

Obviously there was a story behind this verse in the Qur'an, the Tafsir brings this story from Ibn Abbas (if I remember correctly), if you read the verses in the Qur'an you will see that there is no order at all and the connection between the verses is not understood, the Tafsir solves this. Obviously this story was true. Look in Genesis chapter 32 verse 33 for the real answer. Muhammad was wrong. Regarding the "contradictions" in the Bible, every "contradiction" also has an answer if you really look for it you will find it.
