I would definitely recommend reading the Book of the Ancestor (Red Sister) trilogy before the Book of the Ice (Girl and the Stars). These books are so good!!

Wheel of Time is 14 novels, 1 prequel, and 2 companions (so you'll get to read even more than you thought!). But the events of the main series of 14 books spans only 2 years. Obviously there's a lot of history and lore and prophecies that are important...

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is amazing! I've read a lot of fantasy and this series is in my top 5. The world building, character arcs and plot are really well thought out. I would say Robert Jordan is definitely on par with the likes of Brandon Sanderson. Similar writing style and very creative, which I think you'd enjoy.

I have basically the identical fantasy taste in books as you do (like actually all the ones you love happen to be the ones i love and same with the ones you hate lol).... but I was happy with the ending of the Lightbringer series! not my favorite compared to Stormlight Archive or some of those others, but still a good read :)
