Brilliant lyrics, which could be relevent for ANY war that has ever been fought . As for the racism thing we are all members of one race, humans, the rest is geography.

Although England won the Falklands 1982 & Harriers were known as Black Death by Argentina forces... But The Levellers have explained the other side of the greener grass... Love for this Ballad! 💜🎉✅

I agree 💯%!!! This band played on the pubs cd sound system whenever I could put them on! I worked in an Irish pub in Germany 93-97 … during all the Bosnia war etc. Had a NATO headquarters near the city I lived in. I served so many Englishman in the pub and had the best years of my late 20’s & early 30’s. We partied hard!! The Levellers were such a hit with the pubs patrons (Germans & English). I’m South African & absolutely loved my time spent in Germany, making so many English friends! 🇮🇪🏴🇿🇦🇩🇪

They lyrics to this song were apt back then. They are even more apt for the shit we're in today. Time to bring the lads and lasses back home instead of defending America's oil fields.

They are racist. And no they wouldn't. Britain hasn't because the majority of us aren't racist. The amount of immigrants in the country is absolutely miniscule compared to people born here. The only people with a problem with it are those that don't like being surrounded by people who are "different" - racists.

I'm Brittish too, but I'd rather not vote for the racist bigot party, because I'm not racist nor a bigot.
