I've not heard of using liver for blue gills but it looks like that's the ticket, were you going for catfish with the liver and ended with bluegill as a bycatch?

To be honest, we love using chicken liver .We use it to catch carp ,catfish and definitely target the big bluegill at Lake Paris . The only thing we change is the hook size 👍
