When Saiki is taking break Kanami's guitar is becoming a lead singer!!! Thanks for your reaction

from JAPAN. BAND-MAID concerts in Japan usually last around two hours with 23 songs; the final concert for the 10th anniversary was at Yokohama Arena and lasted 33songs over three and a half hours.

This song is just perfect. Structurally, it's so beautiful. Look at what Kanami does at 2:51. Maybe she sees herself as a soloist in an orchestra. There's no crazy improvised guitar solo or overly egotistical playing by any of the band members. Kanami played her part perfectly in this great piece of rock music. Love it.

Band-Maid always brings an ONSET of love, appreciation and happiness to their viewers. Why? Because they're so damn good -- good-natured, good-hearted, good-looking, and beyond good as writers, players and performers. Wow, right?! Thx, Casey & Nate!

Again you gave a fantastic reaction. You picked up on some of the cool stuff they were doing. Miku was doing some cool stuff and she amazed me with what she can do now. So many others aren't that good. If you go, I'm going with you!!!!!!!

Even more amazing is they don't keep the same set list for each concert tour. They will swap out songs from show to show. Imagine having about 30 songs rehearsed and ready to go for each tour.

💯!!! People don't realize how hard that is!!

The whole band, in the dark, in the fog, lasers everywhere, without letting up, not missing a note, two hours straight. There are live bands, and there is Band Maid.

Excellent point - I've seen this, and other, clips and never thought how distracting that must be - and they still NAILED it!

Saiki underwent surgery for throat polyps, she had to go easy on her voice, that's when Kanami began writing more instrumentals and Miku would sing more along with cracking jokes and having story time with the audience. Anything to help our girl Saiki get back into shape.😸FINE shape!!

They have several more instrumental song: Go Nuts (no official recording), Don’t be long, without holding back, Get to the top. BTW, BAND-MAID just released their new album Epic Narratives on Sept 25, and “Get to the top” is included in the album😊

💜💛❤💙💚 The tour finale they had last year lasted 3.5 hours and had 33 songs. They were a bit sad because they couldn't play more, so they had a spin off concert a couple of months later where they played 20+ other songs. And they still hadn't played 3 of my top 5 songs. People who were at both say the last one was better. Try to find the "White Room" videos. There are 9 of them. Each has 5 different versions.

Saiki: Taking a quick break. Kanami: Hold my coffee....My PRS and I will take the lead. Great reaction to another fantastic Band-Maid instrumental. Just an FYI...on most of their songs, in your headphones, Kanami is usually panned to the right ear channel and Miku is panned to the left. Makes it a bit easier to hear what each of them are doing. Keep on rocking to the Maids. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

Saiki the lead singer has had throat surgery in the past so the band are very careful with her voice. They play 2+ hour sets so to give Saiki a break around mid-set they do three things. 1. Play an instrumental, 2. Miku (rhythm guitar) takes lead vocals for a song or two (she usually has one track per album where she is lead vocalist) and 3. Miku will do her legendary and hilarious "Magic Time" MC set. Then Saiki comes back on to finish the set. Even though Saiki no longer needs a break nowadays, it's become more of a tradition. So yeah, they have a number of really cool instrumental tracks.

The other instrumental you really need to hear is WITHOUT HOLDING BACK, the white room version. I actually like it the best of all the instrumentals. It's tremendous. Please react to it.

They take breaks, fortunately, (not just to rest Saiki's voice) because the audience wouldn't survive a 2-hour Band-Maid concert. Thanks guys.

Instrumentals for Band-Maid are not necessarily commonplace, as they only have 6 purely instrumental songs. But they do release a lot of their songs that have lyrics originally as instrumentals as well.

Overseas they tend to play between 18~21 songs and in Japan it goes up to between 22-24. The 10th Anniversary Finale was over 30! Band-Maid was the best live concert I've ever seen, which includes bands like Bon Jovi and Def Leppard back in the day. I feel it is because of how much they involve their fans in every concert. Amazing"

I've seen them 3 times here in the states and it was the best time I've had at shows since i saw Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Young Rascals in NYC in 1967 and The Doors at the Whiskey au Go Go in La in 1968. I'm 77 and have been following rock since the late 1950's and they are something I have never seen. They care for their fans like no other group in music history. I need to see them a couple of more times before traveling becomes a problem for me. I especially want to come to Japan and see them on home ground. And I want to go to Blues Alley and see Tokyo Groove Jiyoshi, Foxy, Rita Nishikawa and The Sax Triplets.

Yeah, we Maidiacs jokingly call the instrumentals "Saiki's pee breaks". One of the reasons Band-Maid does these instrumentals during their live concerts, is that in the past Saiki almost lost her voice due to vocal cord polyps. She had to have vocal cord surgery, which terrified her. She went through the surgery and worked with a vocal coach who had had experience with vocal cord surgery. So during a show, Saiki takes a vocal break, uses Loquat syrup to help her vocal cords, and uses places a cooling device on her throat to keep down inflammation.

Besides the “official” Instrumentals (currently 5), the “unofficial” Go nuts, there is an official score book for their LP Unseen World. There are also a few Instrumental music videos for some songs within the catalogue filmed in a white room. Also, there is an Instrumental for the Genshin Impact video game. (Dawn Winery Theme) There is a music video for that.

"Onset" is always a great instrumental, but if you like instrumentals, you should check out the "White Room" instrumental versions of Band-Maid songs without the vocals. You can find them on either the Band-Maid official KZbin channel or the "Instrumental Maid" KZbin channel. On great "White Room" instrumental version of the Band-Maid song "Manners". If you react to that version, you'll realize, like I did, that it could stand as an epic instrumental on its own merit.

The tapping was Kanami. Miku is very limited in terms of the techniques she knows, she's trained very strictly as a rhythm guitarist to perform the parts that Kanami writes for her. That said, she's become extremely good at those parts, and, like the rest of the band, the important part is that she is just as tight with the band as the rest of them. This is the most important thing about this band, that they have ultimate attack, punching in all together when needed, or staggered when that's what's called for, in just the right timing. Because Kanami is often doing some very noodly part on the lead, and Misa is bringing the bottom end thunder, it's up to Miku to provide the rocking roar that keeps the songs hard and heavy, while still being complex from a composition perspective.

Instrumental excellence!
@_DriveTime2 ай бұрын
Tip: For live videos they almost always mix Miku in the left speaker and Kanami in the right speaker, just as you would see the from the audience. This makes it easier to know who is playing what. There is sometimes a 3rd guitar on the backing track (there was in parts of this track), usually mixed center. This does not apply to studio recordings.

This song really shows clearly what Miku can do as a rhythm guitarist. It's harder for me to hear her when Saiki sings and also when Kanami is sometimes playing chords as well. When listening on headphones, Kanami is usually in the right ear and Miku in the left ear, similar to where they stand on stage, if that helps.
