Thanks guys! An interview with Barks magazine, Saiki says this: Barks: The lyrics of this song were written by SAIKI. It's a little different from "life has ups and downs," but it seems to express a view of life. What did you want to express here? Saiki: Every day, I realize how wonderful music is, and while I was researching the history of music, I learned that there were songs that were forbidden to sing long ago, and stories that were forbidden to tell. But now, with modern technology, we have the chance to restore them and listen to them, and the reality is that we can now read stories that were once forbidden. That made me realize that art is something that never disappears, and I thought that this in itself is very romantic and beautiful. When I thought about what would happen if I expressed life in music, while asking the question "What is life?" that KANAMI asked, I thought that "living" means "we are here now." I wrote this song with the hope that even if our bodies were to disappear, someone might someday pass on this music. I was thinking that it would be nice if our music would remain in the future. I thought it would be wonderful if people in the future who would never know BAND-MAID would find out about us through this song, and if our music could give someone a push. I've experienced something like that myself. There are many musicians who were no longer in this world when I started to like music, right? But their music gave me courage, taught me the greatness of music, and gave me a push, so I wrote these lyrics hoping that I could do that someday.

Epic song from an Epic album. This one is moving up my favorites list. Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 10 were all released on MV prior to the album release. So "Magie", "Shambles", "Protect You", "Show Them", "Bestie", "Brightest Star" and "Memorable". Some insight to the song...in an interview, Kanami mentions "...when I was making this song, I happened to have experienced the death of someone close to me (most suspect she was speaking about her grandmother), so I was thinking about things like "What is life?" and "What does it mean to live?" So I thought I'd like to try to express things like "What is a person's life?" and "Life has ups and downs" through music. Even though there are ups and downs and many changes, there should be a core that never changes, so I expressed that in the riff..." The next song I hope they make a MV for is "The One" which is amazing! Another song moving up quickly in my favorites list. Keep rocking with the Maids.

The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Guys!

Technically not the first release off the new album 😆 there were mvs of some of the other songs as well that came out way earlier. This full album is on yt btw

Kanami wrote this song after a loss of someone close to her( grandmother?) and She kept thinking ” What is life” etc..after that Saiki wrote these powerful lyrics. Masterful songwriting and storytelling 🔥❤️ Lovin’ this song. Last parts of the video you can see Kanami very emotional watching up etc..Just lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️🔥

Kanami said she gave Saiki the song without telling her what it was about. Later, when she read Saiki’s lyrics, she was brought to tears.
