It’s interesting how Stan’s response evolved through the years. In earlier films he stands up for himself more, saying “what do you mean I got you into?” But in later films he does the big “WELL I COULDN’T HELP IT” wail. My favorite of those is at 3:25 - LOL

I never noticed this before: ... their timing is as if they are pausing for a laugh track, even though there obviously wasn't one. It must be that they knew live audiences so well they assumed a theater audience would need the same effect.
@12classics392 жыл бұрын
Yes that was a trick Stan came up with when they transitioned from silent films to talkies. He was the one who perfected the technique of timing dialogue - and breaks in dialogue - so that the audience’s laughter wouldn’t drown out the next line.

You are very intelligent w-o-w. not like it's possible for a misquote to just become popular, nooo it's just pseudo intellectual theory about how the world is changing but only "the enlightened" know about it. The same people who actually believe in things like the illuminati, in that they're so confused and scared of the world that it makes it better in their mind for them to just put everything into one group. Not that it's a vast assortment of things. The kind of people who believe this stuff are the most gullible. They believe any conspiracy theory but call anyone who takes various viewpoints and facts "sheep" it's not either or, y'know.
@Putseller1007 жыл бұрын
Well I have it from an inside source (don't wanna mention any certain secret societies) that the dimension's are slightly blending together creating this Mandela effect, but its hush hush so don't tell anyone! The most gullible people would be average people, who go along to get along, don't want to rock the boat, people too afraid to ask questions lest they stick out. These are people who watch tv (and for some reason that is looked upon as "ok" in our society) for hours and hours. They do exactly what society has told them to do, go to school, go to work, pay taxes, shop and consume, finally fill up on many hours of mindless low quality entertainment. I would rather watch a youtube video from someone foaming from the mouth and ranting while wearing a tin hat in their parents basement than watch any low quality junk on tv. That basement guy may be crazy, but odds are he is not deliberately trying to cover up something or direct us away from important issues like those paid shills from the media do
@TashWigley7 жыл бұрын
+EmperorsPinkSummit The ones who are confused and scared are the ones who don't question things and, as Putseller100 said, do what society tells them to and follow the party line to keep the peace. They're scared that the people who promise to protect them are only for themselves and don't care who they step on for the sake of self-service. They're confused because they never learnt to question things, they read a headline regarding something scandalous and think, "why?" - the people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty down the rabbit hole don't stop at "why?" and then go back to the peace of blissful ignorance.
@jamesaleman4 жыл бұрын
@@emperorspinksummit8652 Try to wear anothers shoes, we are not enlightened, we are the frightened, until you find yourself adrift you wont understand, here is a quote from me in another reply for perspective: "Clearly you have never experienced more than one history, until you have shifted it wont make sense, yes Mandela affected people can see the video and the "new" history, it is just a mind blow when you see it. Be thankful you are not a refugee in another timeline/history/reality where you ask yourself what happened to the version of you that you displaced to arrive here. I have seen "facts" change twice in 6 months, Chartreuse became Puce and back again and Eli Whitney changed ethnicity twice in this year or research. What is worse, we can see the residual evidence pointing to the original source, like the episode "Another fine mess", why not name it "Another nice mess" if it was always that? Research the Mandela effect so you are prepared if you find yourself adrift in history/reality. Do you really think we are all making up the memory of another fine mess? also research quantum entanglement and its changes based on observation, clearly the observers can fork off from the same event, so that yes, the cat is alive and dead, the observer just switched to the path where he found the cat alive and now finds himself arguing with cat dead people when he shifts to their observed reality. Total mind blow. Hug your wife and kids regardless of where they are from."

Yeah, I read that same bull shit in Wikipedia as well...the difference between you and me is that I see that a simple Google search does not make me an expert. What DOES qualify me as an expert here is the fact that I spent countless (100s) of Sunday mornings watching old Little Rascals, Abott and Costello, Laurel & Hardy, and Three Stooges movies. They ALWAYS said FINE mess. Their is NO DOUBT --you should climb down from that high horse and allow for the possibility that you may not know all things.

No, you always heard "nice mess" because it was always that from the start. This podcast was made partly to prove it and you can check it out here. www.stanlaurelandoliverhardy.com/nicemess.htm

this goes a lot deeper than you all think, it cannot be debunked logically just as a negative assertion cannot be proven. The fact is, you will have to experience ME to even entertain it could be remotely possible. I do not mean to start arguments here. Just now that many many things are beyond our understanding. True objectivity requires that you leave open the possibility that anything is possible...even well accepted scientific theories support that at the quantum level. Investigate double slit experiments and quantum physics and you will see how little we actually "know" about the universe around us.

@MrCFR777 Sorry but you're wrong. They NEVER ever said another fine mess in any of their films. I'm going blue in the face here trying to get this through to some people.Even with the proof right here people still won't believe it.

Oliver Hardy NEVER said "fine mess" - it was just the title of one of the shorts.

If he always said another nice mess, then the shots would be titled "another nice mess". In 1986 Blake Edwards made a comedy in Laurel and Hardy fashion called "A Fine Mess". Again if Hardy said Another nice mess all along then the movie would have been called "A Nice Mess"

I was a big fan when I was a kid, I bought a hard back book and on the front it says in quotes" another fine mess". I also have a pic of them two in a kitchen they blew up and stuff everywhere and it also says in quotes "another fine mess". Are we honestly supposed to believe that everyone involved in making that book and picture would make a huge mistake and misquote such a famous line? As a matter of fact I have been asking older folks who watched the shows many times to to quote the famous line, I have never once heard anyone say another nice mess

Well it's such a popular misquote that it would feature on cheap Laurel and Hardy merchandise. I think I know what book you're referring to, from the "Quote Unquote" series, and they did books on many many topics, I remember one about the Beatles. It wasn't made by die hard fans or anything. I remember it from years and years it being another nice mess. It's just a misquote. Casablanca never features the phrase "Play it again, Sam" John Lennon never said "Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles" it's just all misquotes y'know
