You really should take a look into getting fluid film by the gallon and get a air sprayer off their site. Also get the wheel well fluid film they have its super thick and good for areas that would normally wash off quicker with regular fluid film.

In many videos I have heard you mention that in the rust belt the caliper bleeder doesn't want to turn and can sometimes snap off. True this! I have found that if after you install and bleed the new caliper, if you spray the area with brake cleaner (queue dramatic music) AND spray down inside the bleeder with the little tube. Follow up with blowing the entire area off and allow to dry. Now encapsulate the area surrounding the bleeder in a 'chrysalis' of silicone and allow to dry. If done correctly, when you attempt to bleed at a later date, you will find that the silicone has sealed the moisture completely out and the bleeder works as well as when new! Repeat after service for continued weather seal-out. YKW

Thank you thank you thank you, finally someone that works on vehicles for a living and does not like dexcool crap. Converted my suburban over to standard green the first week i got it(all gaskets included). My truck runs 10 degrees cooler on average and after the coolant flush(chemical cleaner) it put out 15 degrees more heat from the heater and dropped down the running temp another 5-10 degrees in the engine. I swapped for 2 reasons, bad experiences to dexcool doing weird things and availability when you blow a radiator hose on the side of the interstate.

I just had to say.. the inner kid in me came out and I never laughed as hard at 26:38 !! I guess the gear oil 'bottle farts' make a diff service worth it considering the smell and mess you have to put up with dealing with gear oil. On a more serious note, you are an inspiration to me from one tech to another. Its so enjoyable to watch another technician that is so professional, respectable and humorous as well. You have a subscriber for life (although ive been watching your videos for awhile now.) I wish you nothing but the best!

Well that was fun. A water pump that was easy to access, no part numbers in the bottom of the differential, the return of a family member (Astro) and some good one liners along the way. I told my wife I was going to come up there for a week on my next vacation and help out around there, but it looks like you got everything covered! (ha ha) She shot that idea down by the way. :(

I had my speakers cranked when you emptied that gear oil container. My wife came running in here thinking I had a major accident .... :D Eric - you ever use LPS-3? Stuff is friggin AWESOME. It's like Cosmoline, but dries much faster & thicker. They claim it lasts 2 years (not in an outdoor environment though). I was introduced to it in the coal burning world. We use it on our stoves and boilers in the off-season. Works great! Stuff is a little spendy however. I buy it by the 5 gallon drum, and dump it in the Sure-Shot. Way cheaper than the aerosol cans in the long run.

3/16 id clear hose works best for bleeding brakes. Especially if you have long enough to reach the master cylinder. Might be able to use for clutch. The clear hose can allow you to do bleeding by yourself.

That Dexos garbage antifreeze has made a lot of mechanics a lot of money.. Both of my S-10 Blazers were victims of that junk. On one the heater core got all clogged up and rusted out. Fifty some bucks for the core and 800.00 plus to put it in. Other Blazer the Dexos ate up the intake manifold gasket and all the antifreeze went into the crankcase. Wonderful product
