Jaiden does a really good job of communicating the attachment to pokemon in nuzlockes. Having watched and played a million nuzlockes, I kinda found that I lost that emotional connection to the pokemon. Jaiden brings me back into that mindset, which is what's so fun about her animations to me.

I think a big part of it is that she emphasizes when they do something clutch or sacrifices for the greater good. Meanwhile in regular Nuzlocks it can be easy to forget what a particular mon has done and lose the impact of its death.

@@krystallinekris The only time I remember an exact age being given in the games themselves is Sun and Moon, I remember being given a dialogue choice to say how old you are (both choices result in 11). Speaking of Sun & Moon, that's the only time an age requirement was mentioned in the games. Trainers become eligible to take the Island Challenge when they turn 11.

To be fair to Alpharad, final evolutions, starters, and legendaries all have terrible catch rates, and the only real way to improve them early game is to lower the pokemon's HP. Combine that with the fact that all the pokemon have a lower max HP due to their levels and he only had regular pokeballs to catch them with, and you realize he was basically set up for failure. You'll notice that in the mid/late game he becomes a lot better at catching them, most likely due to having better pokeballs and better ways of raising their catch rates.

I would pick Torterra out of the first three. Not because it's a starter, but because I have a strong affinity for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Plus, ground-type with grass is a solid combination. What it lacks in speed it makes up for in physical power, especially considering Earthquake. It counters its fire-type weakness with its ground-type moves, water-type is neutral (and let's face it, water types are common even in regular randomizers like this one) while grass is good to attack it with... and immunity to electric attacks are a huge bonus for me. I would hands down go for a type immunity - immediately makes one of the seventeen (this gen) types a non-concern. And in this generation, I value that more than Tentacruel's immunity to being poisoned because it's never going to kill in the overworld if it lingers after the battle. Meaning you can literally just walk it off then use a potion if you're out of antidotes, or flee to the PC if you're near enough to an exit without potentially running into other trainers. As for Jaiden's choice, easy decision for me. Ariados is a hard no - I'm afraid of spiders. Wynaut really doesn't start with the best moves, so while it takes time for Mankey to evolve, the fighting type has the edge for me. Again with how common water-types are across all the species, also pretty common are normal and rock types, both of which are weak to fighting. Not to mention fighting is the only type that normal is weak to.

Really, randomized legendaries in these runs aren't that dangerous until later parts, because randomized pokemon in enemy teams only have levelup movesets. Though I guess you already know that. Heck, Deoxys has probably the worst moves possible at low levels. The only offensive move it gets before level 25 are Wrap and Night Shade. And the level 25 move is Knock Off.

Torterra is I assume at least half a grass type right? Kyogre is a water type plus it was in the first gym so the levels are significantly lower then if you encounter it normally.

While I'm decent at drawing, I'm brand new to animating, so it won't be nearly as good as Jaiden's or Young Yong's animation.

@@taqresu5865 There are capture cards you can use as well, you just need to dig deep to find them. For instance, my PS2. I had to go searching on Ebay and Amazon and stuff to find the capture card I needed because, well, the newer ones simply don't make connectors for old systems like that, and the Elgato site (which an older model of Elgato was the only thing that I knew could record a PS2 and sounded like the most reliable) obviously only sold the newer models. They did have some older models, but none old enough for a PS2. Long story short, you can probably find a capture card, or a way to record your handheld. I've seen people do it in the past and on stream. However, I don't think you can record both screens at once. Anyway, hope you have a good time, however you end up doing it.

I love Tentacruel and Torterra, Well okay I love Ludicolo too, But only if it's evolved from a Lotad, Because Lombre and Ludicolo learn no good grass moves in gen 3 and 4, In fact Ludicolo learns no moves at all after level 1.

24:27 i wouldn't call giga drain and ancient power nothing on the azumeril u could assume it had sap sipper and she ran out of ancient power getting no boost on palkia but she had no excuse for palkia (well and ice beam empoleon but i assume it had earth power)

Even Ice Beam is neutral on Palkia, and Empoleon isn't the best attacker, Ice Beam isn't STAB, and even if Palkia didn't have Earth Power, it would have won the war of attrition, most likely. Also, she could have ran out of Giga Drains on the Palkia. And even if not, Giga Drain is only 5 PP in this gen, I believe, and only like 60 BP. Azumarill has decent enough defenses, especially with Aqua Ring, to live enough for Lance to heal it. Cradilly doesn't have the best attacking stats, either.

@@easternwoyer3876 ​ @eastern woyer 1)Azumarill is tanky enough for a Cradily. It's got base 100 HP and base... 80 defenses. 2) Cradily has base 80 Sp. Attack. Like I said, in this gen Giga Drain is only base 60 power. Remember that this isn't even EV trained at all because it was in the box up until the E4, so there's no random Sp. Attack EV's on it (especially not enough to matter), so if she had bad IV's and / or a bad Nature, it's going to be weaker, too. It would probably be enough to three-shot Azumarill, assuming she didn't use it on Palkia, epscially with Aqua Ring. The HP sucked back (and it would be a lot) would likely be the reason Cradilly survived without needing heals for a while. 3) Also, I guess I forgot Empoleon had that much Sp. Attack since in comp, it's mainly a Stealth Rocker / Defogger with a great defensive typing. Still, it's a palkia and Ice Beam isn't STAB with a neutral hit and also assuming she taught it Ice Beam, but I concede that thing about Empoleon not being a Special Attacker. 4) I know what Cradily's type is. That's why if it was Huge Power, Cradily wasn't getting one shot and likely was getting three shot in order for Jaiden to chip away at it (with recovery). She probably had Leech Seed on it. That's also only if she taught it Giga Drain via TM, since in Gen 4 it doesn't even learn Giga Drain by level up. 5) We don't know the specifics because she didn't show anything in-game about it. I don't think it was Sap Sipper either because I'm sure she would have mentioned it with all the other bullcrap she had to go through, it would just be icing on the cake that the last mon in the entire run was immune to one of her STAB types. After all, like you said, she likely only had Ancient Power as a STAB rock-type move on Cradily. She also said Azumarill hit back "much harder" than she did, and if Azumarill doesn't have Huge Power, it's likely hitting just as hard as Cradilly or "slightly harder," not "Much harder" since Cradilly has about the same defenses (maybe slightly better overall) as Azumarill; less Health but better actual Defense stats and Azumarill's base Attack is about the same as Cradilly's. Again, this is just speculating on semantics of what she's shown and said. There's no way to know for sure and I'm over-analyzing a for-fun animation again. I really need to stop doing this.
