Actually in Italy we don't use all those chemicals, first we empty the pool completely and then we wash it with a pressure washer, after which we fill it again and then we treat it with chlorine, ph adjuster and anti-algae . And we do this every year. And in this way you are sure that your pool is perfectly clean.

@alessandro_-_

@@My_Secret_ArtSketchbook I don't know 'cause we close it as soon as it gets cold. Our pool was made 2 years ago and since then my father every saturday treats the water and clean up the pump and it's filter. Sorry but I don't really know hahah. By the way my Dad adds a much larger quantity of those products before we close it and then we shut off the pump for the rest of the year. Last summer it did get a tiny little bit green but he treated it and left the pump running for one or two days continuously
@stevehamman4465
@stevehamman4465 Жыл бұрын
@@alessandro_-_ , most pools are not designed to be emptied of water! The water holds them in the ground and supports the walls. At the end of the season I also triple the amount of chlorine for the winter. Algae likes sunlight, so a dark winter cover goes over the pool. In the spring , I triple the amount of chlorine at the opening of the pool. Next day ,algae is dead and sunk to the bottom. My filter is a sand filter and has a ( waste) cycle. Vacuum the algae on waste cycle putting the water on the lawn while running a hose to keep adding water to the pool. I also have a heater for the pool. I'm swimming in 4 days. Your dad is adding more chemicals to the pool than you think. Chlorine evaporates very quickly and that's what kills the algae and other bacteria that's in the water! Some people are using Bromine, some are using salt water now. They all have good and bad points. Ask your dad how often he adds chemicals, its probably every couple of days! Good day !

yeah if you watch the full video, the pool was closed for the winter and this was reopening it, it has a pump house and cover, it just got dirty over the winter, considering our winter can last 6 month, i think it does quite well, he does regular maintenance on some pools, but not everyone has him in over the winter, they just wait until summer to refresh the pool and reopen it

They don’t always work as perfectly as shown in the video. Also that footage was sped up, it probably took an hour just vacuuming the bottom. If you go too fast, the sediment moves all around and clouds up the water, where at that point you can’t do anything until it all settles to the bottom again. Then imagine having like a dozen pools to do each day like this…

Because the right balance of chemicals at the start of the season makes it pure again, and you don’t waste thousands upon thousands of litres of water each year for no reason. Once the chemicals have done their job, it’s exactly the same as brand new water. But far cheaper and much better for the environment. My dad works at a water treatment plant in the UK. For the last few years, the water table (the amount of water in the ground) has been getting lower and lower and despite being in rainy England, the reservoir water levels are very low. We’ve had quite a few hosepipe bans in recent years because there isn’t enough rain vs the amount of water people use. Imagine if you weren’t allowed to refill your pool for the new season, because there was a ban on non-essential use of water. It would be extremely frustrating considering a few chemicals would have made the old water like new in the space of hours.

In most cases it damages the pools. If a liner pool is drained, the liner can shrink and crack. If you drain a fiberglass pool, the hydrostatic pressure will either force it out of the ground, or the walls will begin to collapse due to ground weight. If you drain a concrete pool, the plaster is susceptible to drying and flaking off. I would advise against it.

Тот момент, когда начинаешь понимать: "K чёртовой матери этот бассейн, пойду искупаюсь просто в озере!"🤔
@marzhanbk

I first net all the leaves off the cover, then bought a little water pump from Tractor Supply for pumping the dirty muck water off the cover, so it doesn't mix with the pool water when I pull the cover off. It has made spring set up soooo much easier.
