An interesting little job working with Boiler Trust yet again. this time we have used ccts for our hydraulic separation between the boiler and two underfloor heating circuits. the reason we are able to use ccts in this scenario is that we have an unmixed circuit for radiators attached to the boiler also. with an unmixed circuit attached the boiler has adequate load during the flame stabilisation period at the beginning of any cycle to ensure that the boiler does not overheat and go into a repetitive cycling situation. if there was no unmixed circuit I would be forced to use a low loss header to prevent excessive cycling. when using ccts we will use a pipe temperature sensor rather than a low loss header sensor to allow the boiler to see the secondary flow temperature after the mixing is taken place in the ccts. the ability of the boiler to see the mixed flow temperature is important ensure the correct flow temperature to the unmixed circuit.
