I’m here now, April 2021 and I’ve found paradise! I’m staying at a friends home in the private apartment for guests in a residential community. I’m steps away from the beach in Buena Vista. The climate is amazing with cool temperatures at night and mild warmth during the day. We have a breeze all the time. The beach is vacant for as far as I can see. On occasion I may see just a few people, not many. It is easy to swim because the currents and waves are mild. If you ever find this location and come here I promise it will be your favorite beach destination. It’s mine and I’m from Florida 😀

Baja California Sur's glorious colonial past has made it a center for historical architecture and traditional art forms, and it's also a great place to surf and fish. Since Baja California Sur occupies the southern end of a peninsula, overland travel to the rest of Mexico is time-consuming.

We were there in Jan 2021 and to me, a bit too "Americanized" by the people there and prices. We pulled into the first hotel looking for 3 beds it was $185 USD (waaattt????). A friendly local pointed us to the hotel Martin Verdugo and we had a 3 bedroom, by the pool and beach front for $65. We had been paying no more than $40 for 3 beds in Cuidad Constitucion, San Quintin and Guerrero Negro,,,,our kind of towns. Nice to follow you guys and being able to connect on your locations and like you guys, love Baja and Baja California Sur......

I knew you guys would get to my happiest place on earth at some point. Awesome! Too bad about the wind but thanks for the hiking tip. Looked great. Got married on the beach in front of Palmas de Cortez back in 2013 (wedding was great but not so much the marriage but that’s another story) You’re so right about the food. Tons of excellent options. Nothing like a taco made with fresh shrimp cooked over a mesquite grill. Grab an ice cold Pacifico and jump in to the Sea of Cortez🍻I’ll be there in June. Keep the vids coming. Cheers!

Laura, Do you have a video about how to trust the food in restaurants? For example, fresh lettuce and fruits and even drinking the water could be problematic in parts of Mexico in terms of stomach problems or disease.
@hectorcampos9244
@hectorcampos9244 3 жыл бұрын
Janet, everyone would tell you, most of vegetables and fruts are very fresh in Mexico, in this case you should check tour vegetables and fruits in the US, that most of the time, their not as fresh as the seem, and thats including water.

I stumbled upon your youtube channel and have been following the last few weeks. My family and I are heading down in a couple weeks to Cabo which we've been to many times, but this year with Covid, we are renting a car and will have some ability to go up north a bit. I was wondering if you had like a top 5 beaches/hikes day trips list or something you would recommend (kid friendly). We have a 4 year old and are just looking to get out more than the last few years. Thanks
@laura-bronner
@laura-bronner 3 жыл бұрын
I think Santiago and the hike/waterfall at Sol de Mayo is a great option - There are some steep stairs, but I think it's still pretty doable. You can avoid the deep pool if you don't want to bring your 4 year old to the deeper water and carry on up the trail to much shallower waters. Other beaches I've loved so far - Chileno, La Ribera, Cerritos. There's a really great hike in Todos Santos near the San Cristobal hotel - I explain it in this blog post: www.eternal-expat.com/2021/02/16/todos-santos-mexico/ Hope that helps a bit!
