I'm still playing around with RSMB, deciding whether its worth it to put in my next videos. This comes from one person in the comments showing me Frame Blending to simulate motion blur. So I decided to record clips at different framerates, and compare different time interpolation with default RSMB values.
For Frame Blending RSMB Clips, I don't really like this. Frame Blending in general makes it too blurry on fast movement. Yes, I none of these are 240FPS, but even if I were to record at 240FPS with Frame Blending, I don't think I'll like it.
Also, I can't record at 240FPS. I probably can, but OBS wouldn't let me go past 120.

Hi! If you render the video to 1440p 60fps (even though footage is 1920 x 1080) and above youtube will use it's vp09 codec and will look crystal clear / minimal compression. nice vid

@@iiexio773 Yeah ive tried that, even uploading very close to 2k so its still 1080 does not work either, i think 120 fps video is the only way to force it I remember you could drop exposure by 1 in premiere pro and it would work, im sat here making cinematics while shorts get vp9 😐

KZbin's compression looks so bad on desktop, it looks better on mobile. I'm not gonna fix this. I have to move on with other projects.

Ngl I actually appreciate this test because I was considering using rsmb for some clips but not sure if I should now

You can export in 2560 x 1440 but it will give the vid a more grainy look (it'll still look better because of the vp09)

that is not frame blending.... dont use rsmb because it down right looks terrible, and anything below 120fps source clip will not make ur video look any better. 60fps divided by 60fps is 1 frame 120fps divided by 60fps is 2 frames resampled into 1 frame, hence why your video will look smoother, highter the source fps smoother the video is. dont use heavy interpolation on 60fps clips as it will introduce artifacts for example: 240fps divided by 60fps is about 4 blur frames, twice the value of 120 hence itll look smoother. if your gameplay doesnt reach the targeted framerate that you have selected in OBS it wont work, record in 720p if you really cant and upscale it to 4k using FFMPEG, this'll make youtube to give out better bitrate for your videos. oh and I just realized this was like 2 years ago lol

yo skyler, I've recorded an ingame video with a stable 120fps and rendered it through vegas( 2k res ), then uploaded it to youtube but it lost it's smoothness. It looks very jittery in comparison with the source video, any tips to fix this issue? I even tried rendering the video with 120fps and uploaded to yt hoping it'd make a difference but guess not youtube downgrades it to 60fps anyway.

@@mathewlueilwitz6839 no thats not how it works, u render out the video at native resolution and upscale it with ffmpeg, youtube only allow 60fps upload.

i record game @ 240fps in 1080p, then render output 1440p/60fps with frame blending in Premiere Pro. I found this vid cus other ppls vids using RSMB are smoother than mine, but idk their exact settings I''m so confused cus when I render with RSMB my output looks worse than without RSMB :$
