another rx8 engine flooded started with brake cleaner

My mother had this car and the very same headaches. This plagued her any time she would let a valet park the car. When the car is driven for only a few feet and then shut off, it floods. There is a trick to avoid this though, before turning the car off rev the engine to over 3000 rpm and quickly shut it off before the rpm’s drop. This purges any unused fuel from the combustion chamber. If the car does flood, it truly is best to pull the plugs and spin the engine with the pedal depressed (like you said). I went one more step and bought her second set of plugs (@ $250) to get it back in service faster. Combined with a jumper box for the battery, I had the car back in service in the same time one could change a flat tire. This car a one POS that is a joy to drive and a PITA to own. When it finally blew the apex I insisted she be done with it.

What I've done is remove the relay for a air pump or something like that and the fuel pump relay as well. Crank it with the pedal all the way down a few times, then install the relays and should fire up. Awesome video by the way my brother didn't know this technique.

So thats were people put the starter fluid in with the same trick. Also heard to not let go too early so when you see it starting still crank it a few more to keep it from Stopping all while letting go off the accelerator slowly. If you can get it starterd leave the gas pedal at the pressure it caught on for a few then let off the rpms and hopefully it stays on. Never had this issued with my 04 since ibhad the upgraded starter it spun it so fast it never flooded. Even starter when i would move it a few feet and when it was -50° out

Seems like a two people job to make it start up sooner no? Have one crank it and when it sounds like its about to start spray some more? I'm new to Rx8 engines

I wanna say that vacuum port is probably a silencer for the intake, reduce noise from air flow. But don't hold me to that. I'm just speculating and⁰didn't look up the technical name
