Yes I found one like this. It wasn't the final. there was a clue in it to open the next stage. It was put out by NYS parks as part of their annual Geo Challenge. I see you posted this several years ago so maybe this is where they got the idea.

So when these types of caches are in play, is it customary for the owner to indicate in the description that it's a gadget cash or give any kind of hints that they need to solve this type of puzzle or just put it out there and let them figure it out on their own or not?

I'm actually in the process of making a simple PVC water displacement cache this week, and the partnership attribute would be a good choice to mark when you make the cache page . It will require 2 or 3 people to retrieve the cache, and the only tools needed is a saw and a drill to make it.
@BehindtheCache

That is cool I have done one like that and it took 3-4 of us to plug all the holes. It was a lot of fun.

I saw an amazing variation on this where the CO had attached a fake hand to the cache container, so that when you pulled the string a hand popped out of the top. The CO played it up a bunch on the cache page to make it overall a fun, slightly creepy experience. Sadly, that cache has been removed and archived at his point. Very fun idea, though. Thanks for the demo!

I found one like that inside a pecan tree. You had to pull on a brown parachute cord monkey fist knot coming out of a knothole, and the cache appeared coming out of a rotten limb. GC4CAKP. Nice to know how to make one of these now.

I didn't notice if you capped/covered the top open end? And you said you used 1 1/2 inch and 1 inch pipe, correct?
@BehindtheCache
@BehindtheCache 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it was capped. I think it was a 1 inch 1/4. It was just big enough on the inside for the pre-form
@katkaplan3
@katkaplan3 4 жыл бұрын
Behind the Cache and did u drill any hold for drainage? And is the top cap the same or a rounded one, and are the pieces glued together? And how far back does the 1 inch piece sit.? Trying to make this work for the cach to come up- what did you use? Only a bison seems to fit thru the front end with that extra piece of pvc in there? I wanted to use a pre form...
@BehindtheCache
@BehindtheCache 4 жыл бұрын
kat kaplan you don’t have to because the cap is on the top so you shouldn’t but you always can. I used a inch PCV for the pull to pull the preform out. The short PVC just sat in there not far from the cap when you open it. The other pipe is 1 1/2 inch. I hope this helps.

Awesome video, thankyou. Just one question. How have you attached the cord to the tube you pull out? I'm trying to make one but it's not making sense to me lol
@BehindtheCache
@BehindtheCache 2 жыл бұрын
It is tied to the counter weight. When you pull the string it just raises the log container that is sitting on the counter weight.

@@BehindtheCache yup I've got that far. How does it attach to the pully in the Y pipe? I've tied the knot but the cord is on the outside of the inner tube and makes it tight. Do I need a smaller cord? Thanks for your help :)

K don't get it, if the chord runs directly from the pill lid up and out the left side of the Y then how does the bottle come out the top?
@BehindtheCache
@BehindtheCache 3 жыл бұрын
It is like a pull-up. The bottle that the string is on is too big to make the turn and the log container is just comes straight up
@adamturner5730
@adamturner5730 3 жыл бұрын
@@BehindtheCache okay so the pill bottle with marbles isn't your cache container then? Its only the counterweight? Because it seems to me that the pull bottle wouldnt go higher than the Y- but if the cache container is on top of the pill bottle I think that would make sense...
@BehindtheCache
@BehindtheCache 3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct
@adamturner5730
